CHAPTER 03

In the magnificent room of the famous campus a man whose hair was turning white sat in a big chair looking at his eldest son, he was Jordan Franklin.

"That's my condition, if you don't agree, the company will belong to Justin, he is competent and worthy, so I chose him," said Jordan.

"Unreasonable conditions, what does company and marriage have to do with it? Dad wants me to marry a business partner's daughter?" Gerald snorted in annoyance, in fact before this, his father had often urged him to get married.

"Think positively Gerald, you say I never think about your happiness, it means you are not happy with everything I have given you, I want to withdraw it, but you don't want it, I give conditions and you object, don't let you get nothing!" said Jordan implies a threat.

"But you built the Firex group with my mom, neither Justin nor his mom has the right!" concluded Gerald.

Jordan smiled crookedly, "all decisions are in my hands." he showed how powerful he was, Gerald was very lazy every time his father acted like that.

"I already have a girlfriend, I don't want to marry the daughter of any businessman," he said firmly.

"That's good, I told you not to get married for a business relationship, but so that someone will take care of you," said Jordan.

"I'm still too young to get married, I'm used to not being taken care of, so don't worry!" Gerald said curtly, he got up to step out.

"I'll immediately call Justin here." Jordan's sentence stopped Gerald.

Gerald turned his head, then with one breath he agreed without a second thought.

"Okay, I'm getting married soon!"

Coming out of that hell-like room, Gerald sighed, the girlfriend he meant was Olivia who was none other than a student on this campus, and Olivia probably wouldn't want to get married in the near future.

Selena walked towards the wall magazine, she was grateful that she wasn't late because earlier Erika gave her a ride, today she wanted to find scholarship information, her arrears were getting bigger, and she also needed living expenses. Previously, Selena received a scholarship from the university but did not last long because she was accused of selling counterfeit drugs.

It was all Olivia's doing, the girl who was now walking in the opposite direction to her, Selena tightened her arms around the books she was carrying and walked with her head down.

Olivia walked while laughing with her friends, she accidentally spilled the coffee in her hand on Selena's shirt.

"Aaahh," Selena moaned as the hot coffee washed over her skin, Selena reflexively dropped the books from her arms.

"Oops, I'm sorry on purpose!" Olivia covered her mouth with a finger.

The lilac colored shirt blackened, the thin material printed on Selena's underwear, embarrassed Selena immediately picked up her books and covered her shirt with it.

"You still dare to come to campus after conning so many people?" Olivia rebuked.

"Oh come on Oliv, he has no shame you shouldn't have to ask." said Jessie and the others laughed.

"I don't sell counterfeit drugs, you purposely exchange them for expired drugs!" Selena couldn't stand being silent.

"Oh yeah? Where are any trickster who want to admit it, a little advice from me instead of selling herbal medicine you're better off selling strong medicine I heard you also work in a nightclub." Olivia smiled lightly when Selena looked up in surprise.

Selena is very careful about her current job, she doesn't want people to look down on her even more, at the club Selena working as a drinks waitress is nothing more and she does it for tuition fees and household needs. Even her mother didn't know about Selena's job, but Olivia did know, Selena wondered why Olivia always meddled in her business.

"Are you now a paparazzi? I'm flattered to be in the eye like a celebrity, but a little advice from me it's better not to waste time dealing with scammers like me," Selena said with a sweet smile.

"You--" Olivia raised her hand to slap Selena, but strong hands blocked her movement.

Melvin stood between them, he held Olivia's hand before actually flying into Selena's face, the man shook his head, and with a heavy heart Olivia exhaled and then lowered her hand.

"Don't get your hands dirty, honey!" Melvin pulled Olivia into his arms.

"But she sucks, I want to teach him a lesson Melvin!" Olivia whined.

Melvin glanced at Selena, the blonde girl just stood rooted to the spot, even though the two of them had broken up but making Selena jealous was very pleasant for him. Melvin feels that his handsomeness increases when a girl begs him or gets jealous of him.

"Hey b***h! Watch your eyes! Don't look at my boyfriend like that!" Olivia was furious when she saw Selena's gaze directed at Melvin, she took a few steps forward and hooked her hands in Selena's long hair.

Olivia's sharp nails pressed hard enough on Selena's scalp, the girl screamed in pain but no one helped her. Olivia's friends laughed at her and other students passing by stopped to watch and some even recorded it.

"Oliv, stop it already!" Because he didn't want to be a spectacle, Melvin broke it up.

"You poor girl who doesn't know herself! I'll make sure you leave this campus! I won't--"

Before Olivia could finish her slur, Melvin had pulled her away and silenced the ripe lips full of spicy words with his lips.

Olivia was surprised but she didn't refuse when Melvin started to growl, while Selena was nervous and wanted to leave there, but somehow her body felt petrified.

A tall, well-built man, with charming lines, and sculpted every side of his face like a masterpiece, distracting the attention of the people there, he walked with dignity until several female students screamed hysterically at his good looks. Gerald, he saw everything from Olivia spilling coffee on Selena's shirt to her kissing Melvin.

With his long strides and a face depicting fury, Gerald approached Selena, pulled the girl and kissed her on the lips without permission.

"What are you--" Selena was unable to protest because Gerald attacked her lips aggressively, the man vented his anger.

Olivia, who was being swept away, suddenly realized when she heard a clamor, people didn't expect that a nerd girl like Selena would get a kiss from a guy as cool as Gerald.

"Let me go!" Olivia pushed Melvin.

"Gerald? What did you do to him?" She tried to pull Gerald. But Gerald deliberately ignored it and deepened his link with Selena.

"Gerard, stop!"

Olivia screamed, she pulled Gerald's jacket as hard as she could, when the man turned around Olivia immediately threw her hand on Gerald's cheek, until a fairly loud voice was heard.

"Traitor! How could you kiss him in front of me?" Olivia roared.

Gerald laughed sarcastically, "You should have realized who the traitor is here!"

Gerald didn't understand that Olivia was actually stupid or what, it was clear that she was the one who was kissing another man but now she said that Gerald was a traitor?

Selena didn't want to get involved any further, she adjusted her glasses and was about to walk away but Gerald's hand quickly intercepted her.

"Me and Melvin are just friends, and earlier we were just playing around." Olivia explained, she looked at Melvin then winked, she didn't want Melvin to be offended.

Actually Melvin wanted to protest because their relationship was not pretending but Melvin knew the man in front of him, who was the son of the campus owner and a line of successful businessmen rivaling his father's business.

Gerald didn't care about Olivia's words, because it was useless. He grabbed Selena's fingers then said, "Come on, let's go I'm sick of this drama!"

"Bu--but I--"

Not given a chance to protest Gerald pulled the girl's slender body so that she staggered into his arms, Selena trembled Gerald's face looked full of anger, plus Olivia's deadly gaze did not move from her. Selena lowered her head and let her feet follow Gerald's footsteps.

"Gerald, wait a minute I can explain everything!

"Are you in your right mind to bring that ugly girl with you?"

"Gerald I said stop!"

Olivia babbled incoherently but Gerald seemed deaf and kept walking. Reaching the front of the car he opened the door for Selena.

"Come in!" he ordered.

Selena shook her head slowly, "Where are you taking me?"
