The Hidden Queen’s Destiny

Chapter 5

Everyone including me looked up to see four huge men and James coming in. There you are, James says walking over towards me. He continues by saying I was worried when you didn’t come home. What are you talking about James, you know that I am heading to my new apartment and job. Just come with me and we can discuss it on our way back home. I am not going anywhere with you, especially since you are keeping company with the men who tried to abduct me and my friend on our way home from graduation.

James looks at the one who seemed to be in charge and says can I talk to you privately for a second? Sure he replies, he then looked like he was deep in thought for a few seconds and then said to me stay here with my associates I’ll only be a moment and don’t worry, they will keep you safe. They went into an office and I wished I could hear what was being said. I sat there picking at a napkin hoping that they would not let them take me, but why would they stick their necks out for a stranger.

Gabe’s pov

So here’s the deal the guy she called James says , she is my girlfriend and ever since she has been pregnant she has become delusional. I am just here to take her home and keep her safe. That’s funny I say, she seems rational and sane, and very afraid of you and your friends. So you think I should just hand her over to you because of your lame story about why she is running? Just then I received a call from my Alpha. Excuse me a moment, a call from my boss. Actually why don’t you go ahead and go back out there with your friends and I will be there in a moment. I stepped out and allowed him to pass by me to go back out to the main room and answered the call. Hello, what’s up boss? He asked if I had seen the girl he told me about named Lizzie, as she was not answering her phone. Yes actually I have, she is here now and there are Harvest Moon thugs and her supposed boyfriend here trying to get us to let them take her.

Gabe she doesn’t know she is a shifter and even more importantly she is your future queen, you can’t let them take her no matter what you need to do. Well this day just got fun boss. So I take it our directive is to protect her no matter the cost, since she is the future queen. Yes, but she has to believe that it’s just because you’re a good guy. She can’t find out you’re all shifters or her true identity under any circumstances. Gotcha boss, this is going to be interesting seeing as they will likely shift, or at least one of them will. If anyone shifts their side or ours she must not see it. Right, got you covered boss, I’ll call you back when it’s handled.

I headed back out to the table, sat down crossed my arms across my chest, and looked James straight in the eyes. I stared him down for a moment and said get out of my establishment, and take your goon squad with you. Oh and by the way don’t you or anyone from Harvest Moon ever come back here again. James stood up and said she is coming back with me. He said let’s go Lizzie, you’re not going to work for that jerk Knight.

Lizzie stood up and looked around and said it’s fine I will go with him, I don’t want to cause trouble in your restaurant. I told her that she isn’t the problem, they are. It’s one I’m happy to solve and can easily resolve. I just need for you to go into the office and don’t come out until I tell you it’s safe. Lizzie asked me if I was sure, and I told her of course I am. Besides, what you don’t know is that I work for Jason also. He owns this place and it would be my pleasure to protect you. Like I said just go into the office and lock the door.

She was safely tucked into the office and I turned to James and his friends to ask how they wanted to do this? The easy way by just leaving, or the hard way, where we make them leave. They opted for the hard way, and honestly I was glad that they did. I really wanted to kill that guy claiming what wasn’t his. James tried to sucker punch me and the others tried to get the jump on my men. Before all was said and done, we all were in wolf form and had torn their throats out. The whole fight lasted about ten minutes. My men cleared out the bodies and cleaned up, before I went to get Lizzie out of the office.

When I walked into the office she was no where in sight. I turned to leave and look for her, when she said is it okay to come out? Yes I said it’s been taken care of, and I’m sure they won’t bother you again. How can you be so sure? It’s just a feeling that I have.

Why don’t you have something to eat and then head to your new place? She asked if we had a bacon cheeseburger and I told her yes, and it’s really good, but I may be prejudice. She said she would chance it. I asked her if she wanted steak fries also, she responded with enthusiasm yes please.

While she was eating I had one of the guys leave to check her route for others waiting to grab her. I also had another one of the guys put a tracker on her car. That way we can monitor her route to be sure she stays safe.

When she finished her meal I walked her to her car, and told her to call me if she had any problems on her way there and handed her my card. I watched her drive off, and then went back inside to call Jason to report about all that happened and that she was headed his way.

Just as I picked up the phone to call him, the guys reported in and said there were no more Harvest Moon members on the way to her new apartment. I called Jason and reported that we had to eliminate them because they would not leave on their own. Jason said that was probably just as well so they won’t be bothering her anymore. Although, Harvest Moon will likely try again at some point, but she will be safely in our pack’s protection at that point.
