The Hidden Queen’s Destiny

Chapter One

Lizzie woke this morning excited for her big day. As she got ready for her graduation ceremony she could smell bacon cooking in the kitchen. Her mother always made sure she ate breakfast.

I am so lucky that my family loves me, but I hate they are trying to make my career decision for me. Why do they want me to take the job at Vulpine Design when it’s so far away? I’m not sure if I am ready to be that far away from everyone I know and love.

Mom yells up to me that breakfast is ready and I better eat since graduation takes many hours. As I ate breakfast I kept hearing a buzzing sound in my head that I couldn’t make go away, even with medication. It was causing me a headache and ruining my good mood. This is supposed to be a momentous occasion and I’m not sure if I will be able to enjoy it.

Tabi pulled up out front honking the horn to announce her arrival. Tabitha, we call her Tabi has been my friend since kindergarten. I run out cap and gown in hand to jump in her Mustang convertible. I ask her who we are picking up next? Jessie then Margo, we four do everything together.

We get to Jessie’s house and her creepy older brother is sitting on the porch staring at us like he is bothered by our existence. Trent always acted like he was above us all. Tabi honked for Jessie and she poked her head out of the window and said be there in a minute. Jessie came out cap and gown in hand and said something low to her brother which apparently made him angry from the look on his face.

She got in with a look of fear in her eyes. Jessie what did your douche of a brother say to make you afraid? He said enjoy your day because soon you’ll be married. I didn’t want to tell you but my parents are trying to force me to marry some older man to join our families as theirs is very wealthy. There is some long assed contract that gives me twenty five percent ownership of their company as a wedding gift.

Are you going to do it, Tabi asked? Jessie leans her head back and screams oh hell no… and we all laugh. How are you going to get out of doing it, I asked her. Simple I am leaving here as soon as I can find a job far away. If I am financially independent they can’t force me, I am 18 so an adult. We all breathe a sigh of relief.

We get to Margo’s house and she is waiting out front, and says let’s go I can’t wait to actually graduate. Jessie looks at her and says are you forgetting something? No why she said? Where’s your gown and cap? Oh shoot be right back, she runs back up the front steps and her mom opens the door and pulls her into a hug and says see you in a bit, here’s your cap and gown. She gets in and we head to the school.

We get to the auditorium side entrance and everyone is talking about the key note speaker…turns out it’s no other than the president of Vulpine Design. As we get closer to where he is sitting on our way to our seats the noise in my head gets louder and makes it harder to concentrate on the ceremony.

I shake it off, and try my best to keep my attention on my graduation ceremony. He starts his speech and I close my eyes trying to get this headache to go away. My eyes pop open as I realize that I’m having inappropriate visions of him and I doing various s****l acts. What the heck is wrong with me I think.

It’s now time to go on stage and get our degrees. We stand in line waiting for our turn and the noise, no voices all jumbled together are getting louder. I just hope when I walk onto the stage to get my diploma I don’t faint. I reach the final step to get on the stage Anders it’s so loud and unbearable. I walk across the stage and shake hands with the president of the college, then head toward Mr. Knight and it’s getting even louder. Omg!!! I am going crazy, it’s making me dizzy and then just as a set of hands reaches out to steady me I black out.

I opened my eyes to see no other than Jason Knight head of Vulpine Design patting my cheeks to bring me to. I keep hearing one word in my head repeatedly saying Mate, and unseemly images of him and myself in intimate positions again. I try to get up but my legs aren’t steady and I fall into Jason almost falling over his shoulder. How embarrassing to meet him this way. Being the consummate gentleman he steadies me and hands me over to my friends and the nurse that are now close by.

The nurse checks me out and says I just fainted from the heat and excitement and clears me to go finish the ceremony. The ceremony draws to an end and we all throw our caps in the air and then head out to meet our friends and family.

Who do you think is waiting for me with my family… you guessed it, Jason freaking Knight!!!

Congratulations on your graduation Jason says, I thank him wondering why he is with my family. I suppose you are wondering how I know your parents? Yes you could say that I said with just a bit of attitude. My parents and yours grew up together and they were very close friends. When I saw your name as a candidate for the architectural design position I had to find out if you were related to my parent’s friends. Oh ok, that makes sense, I guess. Just then the voice in my head was going nuts. I hope some rest and maybe a vacation will help me get back to normal, because this is awful.

My parents step in and say Jason why don’t you come to Lizzie’s graduation party so we can catch up. Oh great, I thought just what I didn’t want to happen. What if James shows up at the party and starts crap with Jason, because he doesn’t want me to move away.

If you all will excuse me some of my friends want to take pictures together. Of course they all say at the same time. Mom asked if I needed a ride or was going to arrive with my friends. If it’s ok Margo drove and I can ride with her. Ok be safe and I expect you all in an hour. Ok bye, and off I went to find my friends. I caught up with Margo and we went in search for the other girls. Margo. Grabs my arm and asks me what the ever so sexy Jason Knight was doing with my parents . I just shrugged as we saw Tabi and Jessie. Many pictures later we decided to head for our graduation party. The other girls families had already met up with them and left before I found them so we were good to leave.
