The start of Anna's new life

**Authors POV**

After waking up the next day, Anna did not want to do her studies. No reading by the roses, no painting, nothing. All she wanted to do was sit in her room and hide and not let the world see her. She wants nothing to do with her family right now. Her mother and father are selling her off to marry a man she has never seen before.

With last night playing in her head, she tried to get dressed for the day. She only had today to think of a way to get out of this.

**Last night**

"Am sorry, I must have heard you wrong, you said I am getting married in 5 days?" She asked her mother and father, who were just sitting there waiting for Anna to start yelling.

Her mother started crying again and her father nodded his head.

" I am sorry, but you got the wrong girl, I am not getting married in 5 days, and you can't make me!" she was mad. How could they just take everything she had been working for, for so long, just to take it away from her? How can they just sit there looking at her knowing she has dreams and wants to see the world? Not to be married. She was not a married kinda of person.

"You are going to be getting married and that is that. You are a part of this family. That means you have a role you need to play and, if that means putting your dreams aside until later, you'll do just that. So, yes, you are going to be getting married and that's that. So, tomorrow night we will be making our journey to the King and Queen's Black Kingdom."

She could not hold back her tears anymore. She jumps up out of her seat glaring at her mother and father. She had nothing more to say to them. She did not know what to do. She knew when her father said to do something, there was no negotiating with him. She turns and runs out of his office and into her room.

After getting dressed in her Sun & Moon off the shoulder sundress that she loved so much. This dress is black,with blue sun and moon on it. With elbow-length sleeves with puffy shoulders. She doesn't know who gave her this dress. All she knew is one day it was in her room and from the first time seeing this dress on her she fell in love with it.

She only had today to get her father to change his mind about all this, but first she needed to know a little more about the Black family. In all her studies she has never come across a family called Black. And if there was no way out of this, she would know a little more about this family, so she knows what she is getting, will her father and mother are making her get into.

The only way she can get her father and mother to change their minds and know a little more about this family is if she goes and asks them. She takes a good look in the mirror before walking out and goes to her father's office. She did not want anything to eat, she wanted to get out of this, and she only had 12 hours to do so.

Before she walked into the office, someone called her name. Looking to her right, she could see Jack running up to her.

"What do you think you are doing, little sis?"

"I only have little under 12 hours to get them to change their minds. Do you want to help me?" She tried to put on her sweet and loving smile. She knows Jack can't help but to do what Anna says with that smile.

"For one, you will not get them to change their minds, Anna, and two.." he started, but then stopped.

She was hurt. Jack did not want her to stay? Why would he try and stop me? He too wants me to be sent away with a family she did not know, get married to a man she does not know and doesn't love?

"If you are not here to help me, then get out of my way Jack, I have things to do!" she yelled at him. Before she could walk past him, he had grabbed her arm and pulled her out to the rose garden. Making her sit down under the rose tree, he takes a deep breath and lets it out.

"Little sis, I know its not easy and I know it may feel a little unfair, but you have to do that."

"A little unfair? This is not a little unfair, this is so far from being a little. My life is over now! Do you think this is funny?!" She yelled. Looking into his eyes, trying to find out if he is trying to be funny or not. But there was nothing there but sadness. She can tell he is trying to fight back from crying.

"You are not the only one that has to get married, Anna, it's not all about you. I too have to get married. I have to get married before I get to be King. I have to do that because I know my people need me to be King, I can take this kingdom higher than father, and I'm doing this for my people. Just like you are doing it for, not just your people, but their people too. They need a good lady that can be a great Queen one day. And you can do that, you can be that great Queen they need."

Looking down at her feet, she knew that he was right. She knew that her people needed the Black family just as much as their people needed us.

"I know this sucks, I know you don't want to be married at 18. But it is what it is, and there is no way around it, and don't even try and think of one, father is not going to buy it this time. He knows what you do to get what you want."

All she could do was nod to her big brother. She knows he is right. She knows she needs to grow up and be the best lady and one day a great Queen. Who knows, maybe she will get to see the world one day.

Looking back up just in time to see Jack turn and walk away, "Do what you want, am not helping you. Try your luck and cry in front of your father and mother, but it's not going to work. So, have fun with that."

"Jack!" she cried out. She waited for him to turn back to her and as soon as he did she ran into his arms and cried.

"I don't know anything about them. I have never seen the name Black in any of my books. Who is Jack?"

With him just looking down at his sister," That is something you'll need to talk to father about, I'm not going to be the one that tells you. Just don't be too mad at father and mother, they know what they are doing. And the Black family is not all that bad. I have met them 2 times."

Giving his brother a little confused look, what did he tell him? He is not the one that tells me? That sounded a little scary. But she nodded her head to him as she pulled away from him and walked in to the office.
