They didn’t return to the forest path. Instead, Kael changed direction entirely, leading Luna away from the corrupted lands and toward something more… controlled. Civilization. If anyone knew something about a man experimenting with cursed fragments— It wouldn’t be in the wild. It would be where knowledge lived. After hours of fast travel, the air began to change. The forest thinned, replaced by stone roads and distant structures rising on the horizon. A city. Large. Old. Alive. Luna slowed slightly as they approached, her eyes scanning the tall walls and guarded gates. “…you’ve been here before.” Kael nodded. “Once.” A pause. “Didn’t like it.” She raised a brow slightly. “Why?” His lips curved faintly. “Too many people who think they’re smarter than they actually are.”
