Thick smoke spreads around the valley as the village that resides there is engulfed in flames, the once screaming and panicking noises that were once there not even an hour ago has all but died down. A Teenaged girl barges through a door of a fire filled house choking on the smoke, tears running down her face and clear burn marks all over her body. She runs down the road screaming for help but doesn't make it far before her legs give way and she falls to her hands and knees, she hears a low growl which catches her attention as she quickly looks behind her and when does she see's a figure of a big wolf standing about 10 meters behind her. The wolf which was once growling takes a step forward with a grin like gesture on its face, as it watches the girl panic and struggle to get up and run. It leaves her no time to fully get up before it runs at her full force, jumps at her and knocks her down, pinning the girl down with its weight to make sure she can't escape. the wolf lowers its head and places its mouth next to the girls ear before speaking to her in human language. "You know what? I kind of like your name... I think I'll take it."

Heavy rain starts to pour down which makes Naomi shake her creamy-grey coloured pelt as if it would help keep her dry, "Ugh, of cause it would rain on the day I didn't take those damn man made transportation things." She growls to herself as she doesn't like riding cars, buses or boats, she prefers to walk or better yet, just travel in her wolf form, though it seems today would of been the perfect day to just use human transportation. Thunder could be heard in the distance which jolts Naomi out of her rant to herself, its already getting dark and as she is already running late to get to the new town she was supposed to be moving to, so she starts to pick up the pace. She didn't have much money but she managed to find a place where she would be sharing a house so the rent was very cheap, the old lady that owned the house was renting out one of her bedrooms to anyone that needed it as she lived alone and couldn't use all the space she had in her house, so it was perfect for Naomi as she had very little on her anyways.
She was carrying her only possessions she has left in her backpack that she was holding in her mouth, it made it hard for her to travel as it would swing and hit her or get caught in bushes as she went by but it was still her preferred way to travel. She spots a slope that looks like it leads up into a clearing so she starts climbing up so she could get her bearings, the forest she was in is thick which made it hard for her to tell if she was going the right way. Once to the top she drops her bag and pants a bit trying to catch her breath, she walker over to the opposite where another steep slope was and looks around at her surroundings. She soon spots the town in the dim light as some houses already have their lights on, the town was surrounded by mountains which had a forest covering the lower parts of the mountain range but circled around the town as if trying to hide it, but it was easier to see from up high. she nods to herself confirming that this was the correct town as she turns around and picks her backpack up, with a slight wag of her tail she starts running down the steep slope towards the town, excited to start her new life.
The storm had picked up be time she got to the town and it was dark, lucky for her because she needed to transform back into a human. She looked around and found a big tree which had bushes surrounding it and she deemed it a good place to transform, it took her only a few seconds to go back to human but it was long enough as the rain was hitting her hard making her feel very cold as she stood there naked. She quickly goes through her bag and pulls the first piece of clothing out which happened to be a light grey dress with a white collar, she then takes out her only pair of shoes which were black laced low wedged heals. "I wish I had a coat but I guess these will do for now, hopefully I can get a job and earn some money here.." She sighs to herself while putting on her clothes, it wasn't the nicest feeling walking around in soggy clothing but it should do while she goes search for the house she was going to be staying at.
She walks around the town in a fast pace, no one was about so she couldn't ask for directions to the street she was looking for but it seemed luck was on her side a bit as she found the street after 15 minuets of being in this town. She finds the house she was searching for at the end of the street and walks up to the door giving it a knock, not long after a small old lady opens the door. "Hello?" The old lady says in a soft but curious voice.
"Hello Ma'am it's Naomi Wright, is this Ruth? I came here to move into the spare room you had." Naomi asked with a smile trying to look as friendly as possible even though she was feeling frustrated being out in the rain all this time.
"Oh! Oh my! I am so sorry Naomi I completely forgot this was the appointed day of your arrival. The room is ready so please come in, you must be freezing." Ruth swings the door open and waves her hand signalling for Naomi to come in.
"Thank you Ruth, I am so sorry for coming this late, I had some problems with transportation along the way which led me walking through this storm for a while." She says as she walks in and wipes her feet on the door mat, she only takes a few more steps forwards before taking her shoes off to not dirty Ruth's floor.
"No need to be sorry, things happen. Now If you head upstairs your room is the first on the right so you can go unpack your things."
Ruth then looks down at the bag Naomi is carrying and give a concerned look "Is that all your luggage or do you have some more coming?"
"Oh this is all I have.. most of my things got destroyed in a fire at my last house, it was a terrible accident but I am hoping to move on and make a life here instead and forget about my tragic past events." Naomi says with a sad smile and looks towards the ground as if recalling the past.
"Oh dear I am so sorry to hear, hopefully things turn out alright for you. Go head up now, I'll go get you a towel so you can dry off." Ruth says in a voice of pity and holds Naomi's hand for a few seconds trying to bring her comfort, she then turns around to guide Naomi to the stairs.
"Thank you again Ma'am." Naomi says with a smile and goes up the stairs and heads to her room.
Naomi opens the door and looks around her new room, it was small but enough size for her, it already had a bed with a trunk at the bottom, a wardrobe by one wall and a wooden desk with a chair by the window. She places her backpack on the bed and starts taking out the remaining clothes she had, which wasn't much so only took her a minuet to place them in the wardrobe. Just as she was about to sit down on the bed she hears a knock on her room door, so she promptly gets up to open it.
"Hello dear, I have brought you a towel and cup of warn tea to help warm you up. If you would like to take a shower or bath its just this door here opposite you and if you need me my room is at the end of the corridor on the left. I shall be heading to bed now but I do hope you can settle in." Ruth says as she passes over the towel and mug to Naomi.
"Thank you Ma'am, have a good nights sleep." Naomi says as she takes the items and places it on her bed.
"Goodnight Naomi."
"Goodnight Ruth."
After both saying their goodnights to each to each other Naomi shuts her room door and goes over to drink her tea while thinking just how lovely Ruth seemed to be, though she would of liked to take a bath to warm up she was just to tired to convince herself to stay up longer. She takes off all her wet clothes and hangs them over the chair and trunk in hopes they would dry off be time tomorrow but sadly she had no nightwear to sleep in so she quickly jumped in bed naked and wrapped up in the blankets trying to warm herself up.
Naomi wakes up to the sun peaking through the curtains onto her face, she tries to remember when she fell asleep but it must of been not long after she got into bed as she doesn't remember even trying. She sits up and stretches and takes in her surroundings before she gets up and goes over to her clothes touching them in hopes they were dry, while they were slightly damp they were not fully dry either but it didn't worry her as she still had an hour or so before she would get changed into them. She grabs the towel that Ruth had given her the night before and wraps it around her body and heads out of her room to the bathroom, she knocks on the bathroom door before entering but deeming it empty she goes in and turns on the tap to the bath. She takes a bath for about 30 minuets, relaxing and cleaning herself of the dirt that had gotten on her from the travels to this town the night before, her dirty blonde coloured hair had been looking almost light brown from how dirty it was but gives it a good scrub with shampoo she found and used a bit of hoping Ruth wouldn't mind. Afterwards she washed her face and brushed her teeth, looking at herself in the mirror wondering if her eyes were a bit to unnatural for humans, they were a mixed colour of oranges and yellows. Werewolves always keep the same eye colour in human and wolf form, making it harder for some to not catch the looks of humans for having more of a unusual eye colour. she shakes her head to get rid of the thoughts, "It will be fine."
She goes down the stairs all freshed up from her bath but still wearing yesterdays clothes, she didn't see Ruth in the house so she puts her shoes on and heads out of the house where she see's Ruth humming to herself while doing some gardening.
"Good morning Ma'am, I hope your day is going well."
"Oh Naomi, good morning! My day is going splendid so far, the weather has cleared up leaving this lovely sunny weather. Would you like some breakfast?"
"That's great! But no thank you, I will eat later, I am going to take this chance to go around the town and find a job." Naomi says as she starts walking down the garden path towards the gate.
"I see, well good luck. I will be making us both food tonight so come back before 6 so its not cold." Ruth says with a sweet smile and gives Naomi a wave goodbye as she heads down the garden path.
"Will do!"
Half the day had past and with much struggle, she was finding it very hard to find any place that had work available for her, most sent her away before she could even finish her sentence but luckily on her way back to Ruth's house she saw a little café on the corner of a street and decided to check it out and found out they were currently hiring and she was given the job after a quick interview. She was given uniform and was told to come back tomorrow morning at 8am to start her first shift. Excited and smiling to herself about getting a job on the first day of looking she almost started skipping, until she sensed something, the type of feeling only werewolves feel towards each other when in human form so they can tell each other apart. She turned towards the direction it came from but the crowed of people seemed to mask who it was and before she could blink twice she could no longer feel it, feeling a bit frightened as she has never heard any other werewolves living here before when she investigated, she turned back around and jogged back towards Ruth's house not looking back.
Once she got back to the house she was out of breath, she didn't stop because all she could think of was the sense of another werewolf in that crowed, what if they followed her, what if they were not friendly, what if they're after her? All those thoughts rushed through her head as she opened the door and went into the house. When she got in she could smell freshly cooked food, her tummy rumbled at the thought of food as she hadn't eaten all day. She took her shoes off and went in the direction the smell was coming from and found Ruth placing plates and silverware onto the table and in the middle of the table was a pot of stew with some smaller dishes of vegetables. "Good afternoon Ma'am, it smells delicious."
"You came just in time, here sit down and grab a bite to eat." Ruth smiles as she grabs one of the chairs and pulls it out for Naomi to sit on.
"Thank you Ruth, you are too kind."
Ruth giggles as she sits into her own chair and starts dishing out the food, they both start eating and talk the night away about various of things and once they had finished they both cleaned the table and dishes. Naomi started feeling tired so says goodnight to Ruth and heads off upstairs to her room, where she starts getting ready for the night, she combs her wavy blonde hair and places her new work uniform in a neat folded pile on top of the desk ready for tomorrow. She gets into bed and snuggles into the blankets and pillow but starts feeling uneasy when she remembers todays events of sensing another werewolf, she couldn't get it out of her mind and tosses and terns in her bed wondering what to do if they confronted her, would she have to run or fight? No packs like it when unannounced wolves show up at their doorstep, but even with all those thoughts in her head she manages to drift off into sleep.
