Chapter One

240 Words
Mallory glared daggers at the boy across the school hall. He was cute, but she had a strong dislike for him. He had begun to pick on yet another student, and her fingers began to itch. Wind rushed through the hall, swirling through her white-blonde hair, gaining momentum. A hand settled on her shoulder, and a voice whispered in her ear. " Calm down, Mallory. Now is not the time." Mallory huffed and turned to Carrie. " I'm so tired of him and his friends. They'll never stop bullying unless we stop them." Carrie raised a brow. "And we will stop them, Mal. Just not today, not right now, and not right here." Carrie felt the growth of anger inside, from her thoughts, and felt her eyes begin to glaze over. She clenched her eyes shut, and controlled her breathing. She had to calm down, or she would cover the school in plants. Mallory picked up her backpack and her friend's. "Come on Carrie. Let's find the others." Mallory quickly found the other two girls, Nikki and Jordan. "Hey girls. Are you doing any better than we are?" Mal asked. "Not really," answered Jordan with a groan. Water dripped from her light blue hair. Nikki wasn't much better, her hands clenched around the metal balls she carried everywhere. They all joined hands, and quietly recited a spell. Afterwards, the smiles were replaced and the girls were on their way to class.
