Chapter Five

251 Words
Carrie stood outside her burning home. Halfway in shock from what just happened, and halfway glad it had happened at all. The firetrucks arrived, and Carrie was picked up by Nikki and Nikki's mom. When she was settled into the guest room, she knocked on Nikki's bedroom door. Nikki yelled for her to come inside. "Hi Mrs. Wasley." Carrie greeted Nikki's grandmother. "I have a question. I have power over plants, and earth..." She ran a hand over her face. "But I- I burned my father and and my house." Mrs. Wasley looked concerned. "You controlled fire?" "Yes. My hair became fire. It flowed from me. It was one with my anger. It roared and crackled. And towards the end I felt a strange strength, and I said that dad deserved to burn." Carrie rubbed her face."Grandma what's happening to me?" "I'm not sure yet sweetheart. But if you control fire too, maybe the other girls can also." Nikki smirked. "Fire power? I hope so!" She stood up, and closed her eyes. Since anger is what fed the flames for Carrie, maybe that's how to tap into it. She began focusing on am anger inside her, but it didn't do what she wanted it to. So instead she latched onto a different emotion. Loneliness. As it surged within her heart, her eyes opened. Flames danced in them, and on her finger tips. Before it overcame her, she snapped out of it. "Oh my word Grandma! I have fire power too!"
