“We have to go home and get my car. I need to stop in at the club today. It’s been two weeks since I went over there. Mike is a good manager, but every business needs the owner to take an active interest. I’ve let Zach do all the heavy lifting. Do you mind if I go?” Keith asked Bobby.
“Of course not, go ahead, I’ll be okay.”
Keith examined Bobby’s body language to make sure he was telling the truth. Bobby’s leg wasn’t twitching, and he seemed calm. Keith decided to go.
“Okay, we’ll go home and pick up the Rover and I’ll stop in at work. I shouldn’t be more than a couple of hours.”
“Take as long as you need. As I said, I’ll be okay. However, tomorrow, we’re going to pick up that Enclave. I want you safe.”
“Okay, baby, tomorrow we can go car shopping.”
