Chapter 2

730 Words
The dream. Bewildered by the whole situation, Althea brought me something to eat hoping to ease off my hunger because I seemed unusually famished. Soon after I passed out on her king sized bed, I remember I staring at the weird looking antique clock on her shelf, it was 7pm. I intended to leave my parents a message so they wouldn’t have to worry but what would be my explanation, I myself had no idea what was happening to me. Althea was the only child of her busy parents, they were out of the states on some business trip. It was like a vision or some hallucinations. My body was laying on the bed, but I could see myself walking , I wasn’t dead just asleep. Felt like a voice called to me from the other side of the room. I couldn’t see a face but I followed. I made my way out of the mansion, I found myself in the woods, I could feel the moistness of the sand on my bare feet. I saw no one but my instincts led me to a path. I was about to go forward when Althea woke me by shaking me roughly. “Luna, wake uppp! I’m sorry I called your parents, they’re here and they want to talk to you too”. Hoping they had an idea to what actually was happening to me, they made their way towards me with sorrowful eyes. “There’s something you need to know darling and we’re sorry we didn’t tell you earlier” Matilda looked at Althea, signaling her that they needed some time alone with me. She walked out till I could no longer hear her footsteps. “Darling, eighteen years ago, we found you in a safe box, we decided to keep you because you were so helpless and adorable, we intended to tell you once you could understand, we thought you were going to die and the guilt of not telling you is what has driven us to tell you now” “It’s okay if you are mad at us” Phil added. I couldn’t help the urge to cry again, I pulled both of them into a hug but I didn’t mentioned anything about what had happened to me at the hospital. I talked them into letting me stay at Althea’s house for a while before coming back home. They were unusually convinced that I was okay and didn’t need the hospital. Soon after they left, I watched them from Althea’s window in the left top corner of the old mansion. “Finally, do you still want something to eat? I could make you some pasta or anything or even order something if you want” “No it’s fine, I just—I’m okay” I said thinking about the dream I had just had. “Alright then” She walked out in a clumsy manner before turning back hearing me call her name. “Althea!” “Yes? What’s wrong Luna”? “I had a dream, or some kind of hallucination and I feel like all these is just fate wanting me to find out what’s wrong with me” “Tell me about it” It sounded like she was excited kind of , Althea was a huge fanatic of adventure, horror and fantasy, so this sure interested her. I explained everything that happened in the dream and how I feel like something keeps calling me into the woods because there’s something to be found. I was about asking her if she had a back pack I could use to pack a few things when I go into the woods when she screamed “I’m in” “So when do we set off and what are we packing? I mean, I’m your best friend even if I’m been a bit of an asshole because of shitty Finn, but here I am.” We both packed up a few things we would normally pack if we were going camping. She quickly left a note on her bed side shelf for her parents telling them she had to go on a trip with me and the girls( apparently there are no girls) and she’s be back in a few days. We had no idea that our lives was about to take a drastic turn.
