"I'm tryna make you mine if you want But I know where you'll go when you're gone" Natalia's POV: It had been two days since I escaped from his dominance, his truculence. Every day in these two days was a living hell for me. I neither could sleep alone nor could I stay alone anywhere, even for a moment. Every time I jumped and flinched when the doorbell rang or any extemporaneous sounds occurred, even for a slight movement. Uncle Jacob assigned two security guards at his house but I could bet they were nothing in front of Nicolas and his men. Since I was too afraid to sleep alone, I slept in Nova's bedroom. Every night was a torture to me as I couldn't close my eyes even for a few minutes. I felt him, his fragrance, his touch, his darkened ocean-blue eyes, and his sweet melodious cold voice whenever I closed my eyes. And I feared it most because he's a cold-blooded monster. The commissioner had called a meeting with all the officers and the police department had decided to search the forest. Uncle Jacob was doing his best to find my family and catch the gang. Fardinn and his father also joined him. However, I was so confused as to why Fardinn was helping me and the police force. I missed my family very much. I missed Ellerie. How happy we were one day but Nicolas destroyed everything. I cried every day for my family until my lungs and eyes gave up. I imagined my old golden life every day and how happy I was with my family. Reema and Marjan had crushed the car with a stall on their way to Jacob's house when they heard I was found out. They were crying like babies and hugged me as tightly as they could. I laughed at their reaction but I knew they missed me very much. Fardinn and his father, the commissioner, also came to meet me and asked me many questions about Nicolas. I doubted they were here to help me but I calmed my head thinking that they were doing this to help me. Reema and Marjan used to come every day and we talked and cried for hours after hours. I didn't know what would happen to me if they weren't in my life. We were like sisters and we shared everything among us. I told them about what happened between me and Nicolas. They knew he forced me to do that and promised me they would keep it a secret. They comforted me and assured me in every way possible and it soothed my pain for a moment. "Talia, let's play in the garden. You always stay at home. Why?" Nova pouted. She didn't know what was happening in my life. She was told by us that my parents went to the village with granny and we're staying at their home for a few days. We avoided every conversation with her as much as we could. "Okay, I can go to the garden. Let's go." I smiled sweetly and kissed her cheeks. The garden was behind the house. So I thought there would be no problem because nobody would see me. "What are you two talking about, babies?" Auntie Hannah smiled brightly and walked into the living room with a bowl of fresh cookies. "We're going to the garden. Talia will play with me today. Yay!" Nova cheered. "Talia baby, are you sure you'll be okay?" Hannah hesitated. "It's morning, Auntie. I'll be fine." I smiled. She nodded and gave me a soft smile. We finished eating cookies walked outside and reached backward, in the garden. The sun was shining brightly, sweet cool breezes were blowing and birds were chirping. I took a deep breath and relaxed. It felt good as I locked myself in the house for one week. Nova was giggling and playing with some butterflies which were sitting on the edge of the flowers. I giggled and sat down on a bench. I looked at my home and exhaled sharply. "Hey, my girls. How are you doing?" Jacob entered the garden with a bright smile. "Dad! I missed you!" Nova ran and jumped on his embrace. "I missed you too, baby." He kissed Nova's cheeks. "Good morning, uncle." I smiled. "Good morning, Talia baby." He smiled and kissed my forehead. "I've got good news for you, Talia." He smiled. "What is it?" "We are stepping forward. We're going to create an operation in the forest tonight. And we've got a piece of information about your family." He squeezed my shoulders when he noticed tears in the corner of my eyes. "Where are they?" I whispered. "They're in the North City. Nicolas hid them in a hotel that belonged to him." He smiled sadly. I couldn't hold my tears further as they started falling nonstop unknowingly. Luckily Nova wasn't there and playing with butterflies. Uncle Jacob wrapped me in his strong arms and whispered soothing words. "Don't cry. It's a piece of good news, isn't it? Now be ready to meet your family. While we'll attack the gang, the North City Police will rescue your family from the hotel." "Okay." I sniffed. But then I noticed a hawk was rotating over the house and bawling. The sound was so loud and irritating. Something felt wrong. "What happened?" Jacob frowned. "Why is it rotating only over this house? And its sounds are so irritating." "Maybe it has a crush on you." He winked and chuckled. "Then I'm sure you're gonna give it a hard time." I laughed. "So a hawk got some nerves?" Hannah giggled and entered the garden. "Yeah. I'll definitely lock it in the jail if it irritates Talia baby again." Jacob laughed. We laughed together. I relaxed a bit hearing the news from Uncle Jacob. Finally, I was going to see my parents after many days. But my relaxation turned into horror when I saw two black Mercedes and one BMW abruptly stop in front of the house. Auntie Hannah and I gasped. "Hannah, take Talia and Nova inside the house. Don't get out until I say." Uncle Jacob commands in a serious tone. Hannah grabbed my and Nova's arm and headed toward the back exit. But before we could walk further we heard two gunshots. We screamed and ran toward the door but a cold shivering voice stopped us. As we turned around, I felt my soul leave my body. Nicolas, Stephen, Victor, and John standing with five bulky men, all in black. A toothy grin plastered on their face. I gasped in horror. The most horrible thing was, the flying hawk was now sitting peacefully on Nicolas's left arm! "Finally! Nice to meet you, Officer." Nicolas grinned, black sunglasses lying on his nose lazily. He looked so f*****g sexy with the hawk on his arm. If he wasn't a criminal, I would easily meltdown on him. Shut up, Natalia! "What do you want, Nicolas?" Uncle Jacob uttered. "Simple. Her. I want her." He shrugged. "Why did you kill Sheeran? And now why do you want her?" "What the f**k?! Are we here for an interrogating session? f**k me!" John growled. Auntie, Nova, and I flinched. "Stop interrogating. We have a lot of time for that. Now I want her." Nicolas uttered. "I will never give her to you. Surrender yourself to the police with your all criminal friends willingly, I can reassure your punishment that it won't be that painful." Uncle Jacob said in a stern tone. They all looked at him for a few moments then blasted out laughter. "You're so f*****g irritating, Officer." Stephen chuckled. "Then get out of my house." Jacob hissed. "Without her? No, of course not." Victor shook his head. Nicolas was so busy with his hawk. He was brushing its feather with his right palm but surely he was hearing us. "Officer, we won't repeat. We'll get out of your home sweet home as soon as you give us the girl." Nicolas said in a cold calm tone that shivered me in fear. I was trembling badly in Auntie Hannah's arm. "Shh. Everything will be okay." Hannah whispered. "Nothing will be okay. You all are in danger because of me." I sniffed. "Hey, don't say that. You're my other daughter. You never put us in danger, silly girl." She whispered and kissed my cheek. I hugged her tightly. "Natalia!" I flinched and looked at Nicolas. "Come to me. Why did you run away? We had a beautiful moment that night. Then why?" He frowned. I couldn't take it. I knew I easily let him do every sinful thing and I regretted that every day. "You forced me!" I hissed, gritting my teeth. "No, I didn't." He smirked. "Talia baby, he forced you?" Uncle Jacob gasped and so did Auntie Hannah. "No, Officer. We had a great time." Nicolas gave him a sinister smirk. "You bastard! I'll kill you right now!" With that, Jacob pulled out his gun from his waistband and pointed it at Nicolas. Instead of becoming afraid, Nicolas laughed in amusement. "Before you kill me, she'll snatch your wife's and daughter's eyes from their sockets." He pointed at the hawk and winked. "We're being nice, Officer. Give her to us quickly. We don't have all the time for this bullshit." Victor hissed. "Why do you want her? Why's she so special that you all came here just for her." Uncle Jacob raised an eyebrow. I was also thinking about it. Why did they all come here just for me? But then I thought it might be for security. "That doesn't matter. She's important for two reasons. That's why we all are here." Stephen snorted. "What do you mean by two reasons?" I snapped. "You don't need to know." Stephen sighed. "So it's not only a possession but you will use me!" I shouted. "Come to me," Nicolas growled. "No! Never!" I shook my head furiously. "The consequences won't be pretty. I'll kill them all." He hissed with pure rage. "f**k me! f**k this drama!" John growled again. "No, you can't do this! I'm not coming!" I screamed. "She won't go anywhere, you bastard!" Uncle Jacob boomed and pressed the trigger aiming at Nicolas. Everything happened so fast and we heard another gun shoot. When I looked forward Jacob wasn't standing, my breath hitched in my throat. Uncle Jacob was lying on the ground, clutching his right shoulder, and was bleeding. We screamed and ran toward him but Nicolas grabbed me by my arm and roughly pulled me onto his chest. "No! Please! Nicolas, let them go! I'll go with you! Please!" I cried and struggled. "You're so tough, aren't you?" He rasped. "NO! Talia, you're not going anywhere! You f*****g bastard, let her go!" Uncle Jacob growled. "I'm so sorry! These shits are happening just for me! I don't want you to be killed!" I cried out. "You're lucky that I didn't fire this time. But next time it will be me and you won't survive, Officer." John smirked at Uncle Jacob. "No, please. Let her go. She's innocent! She will die if you keep torturing her. She won't survive with you!" Auntie Hannah sobbed holding Uncle Jacob. "Really? Then I would like to break her innocence." Nicolas purred. With that, Nicolas abruptly pulled me with him. I screamed and cried out in agony and fear. Auntie Hannah and Nova tried to stop them but John shoved them on the ground. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for everything!" I screamed and cried. I cried out in pain as Nicolas grabbed my hair and shoved me into his black Mercedes. "I'll teach you some lessons today, puttana." He hissed. "No, please!" I slapped his hand but his hold was tight. "How dare you escape from me?!" This time he grabbed my neck and squeezed it tightly. I neither could breathe nor could say anything. I stopped breathing and started thrashing my body. My vision went blurry and I saw stars in front of my eyes. He almost killed me but luckily Stephen and Victor grabbed his arms and yanked him back. "Are you f*****g crazy?! You almost killed her! Are you f*****g out of your mind?!" Stephen shouted. "She f*****g ran away from me! I'll f*****g kill her right now!" Nicolas screamed and struggled to get out of their hold like a madman. His eyes were bloodshot, his face was red and his breath was heavy in anger. I never saw him this angry. I rubbed my neck and cried hard. "We don't have any time for this bullshit! Cops will arrive here at any moment! f**k! Steph you sit beside Natalia. I'm driving and Nick will sit beside me. Quick!" Victor shouted. Nick came down immediately and everyone got into the car. Victor started the engine and drove fast. I placed my face into my palms and cried hard. "Hey, Natalia. Are you okay?" Stephen asked softly. Nice! I was about to die and then he was asking me if I was okay! I wanted to shout at him but my throat was too sore to shout. "Of course not." I rasped but immediately clutched my throat and hissed as it was burning in pain. "Hey, it'll be okay. I'll take care of it." He looked at me and squeezed my shoulder. I just nodded and leaned against the window. I looked at Nicolas from the corner of my eyes but he was looking at the road ahead. I sighed and cried silently until my eyes gave up.
