Work on Monday started off the same as every other day. She went about her business while trying to put the work of the Kindred to the back of her mind. The key to appearing benign was to go through the motions like there was nothing else going on in their lives. Pretending to be oblivious became harder when she collected a contract from her printer, slid it into a leather binder, and carried it to Grant’s office.
