With everything that had gone on in her life in recent months, she expected everything and everyone in the world to be somehow changed. Yet, Purdy’s proved her wrong. The same décor and generic affluent professionals still characterized the unchanged space. While Grant ordered the drinks and got them a table, she considered whether or not it was reassuring or terrifying that so many profound things could happen while so many other things remained entirely the same.
