Chapter 14
I had been expecting to see another parachute pack. Once I’d got over the initial shock of jumping off the first wall into thin air, I’d quite enjoyed the sensation as we drifted down to the ground. But all I saw was a tall pole with a cable attached and what looked like some kind of pulley system. I couldn’t see how that was going to help us get off the wall. I stood next to the post.
“And this is..?”
Sestra unhooked two harnesses that were attached to the post. She threw one to me.
“Here. Put this on.”
It looked similar to the harness we’d used for the first parachute jump but I still wasn’t sure how to wear it so I watched Sestra put hers on and mirrored what she was doing. I looked for – and found – the clasp that would link my harness to hers. But something was wrong.
