Chapter 16 Standing at the edge of a lake, I had no idea what a palace was supposed to look like. Big and luxurious were the only two characteristics that I was sure would be for certain. But it was more than that. It was beautiful. In the middle of the city, a landscape of busy geometric architecture, the Palace stood out against the rest of Sol City like a beacon. A clear turquoise lake sparkled as its waters lapped gently at our feet, except for where a lone waterfall cascaded down from the beautifully tended lawns on the opposite shore and stirred the lake with a confusion of spray and foam.
