25 It wasn’t the sun that woke me up, but muted voices. My eyes fluttered open and I found myself staring into the dying embers of the fire. Across from me stood my three companions deep in argument. “What aren’t you telling her?” Caius hissed at my grandparents. “What do you mean?” Sage returned. “You may be able to fool her because she trusts you, but anyone else can see you’re hiding something,” Caius accused him.
