Mikaela POV

My brother is driving me crazy! He keeps on taking irrational decisions without thinking and it’s going to be our downfall. He just brought back Veronica like the night of the New Alpha ceremony didn’t happen. Like William is a fling of the past and he doesn’t matter.

I’m sure as hell that she had something to do with William’s kidnapping. She never liked him in the first place, then not being chosen as Luna left a bitter taste in her mouth but being kicked out of the pack was just the cherry on top. I know for a fact that she didn’t just come back into the pack after 4 months of exile and appear out of nowhere being a different person or a nice one for that matter. People and wolves can change, but not her. Something with her smells fishy and I’m going to find out what is.

If Keaton won’t listen to me, then I will just have to prove it to him. And I know just the person that will help me out with this.

“I need your help” I say as I walk into the room without knocking.

“I’m in” Jade says with a nod. “I don’t believe a single word that girl is saying, and I know for a fact she had something to do with last nights paper” Jade says as she crosses her arms around her chest and glares at no one in particular.

“Well in that case I need your nose, you are the best tracker I know” I say with a nod, and she winks at me.

“MY nose is better than hers.” A voice said from behind me. I turn around at the voice and see Jace smirking at the both of us. I let out a breath of relieve knowing it wasn’t Keaton walking in on us.

“I’m on the same page you guys are in, that girl is lying right through her teeth” Jace said in a breath. “It’s a shame Keaton can’t see through her fake act” Jace finished crossing his arms around his chest. “Oh, and we are using my nose to track William down since my nose is better than Jade’s” Jace said with a wink.

“Keep dreaming brother” Jade said as she rolls her eyes at his brother. I smile a little at their small argument.

“Let’s meet up tomorrow at the coffee shop she works at. I don’t want Keaton to notice that we are trying to go against his precious little girl” I say and they both nod.

-The Next Day-

Me and Jace went to the coffee shop Veronica used to work at, and he got a hold of her scent. I didn’t catch anything, but then again, he is the tracker and I’m a warrior. I had sent Jade with some clothes of Veronica’s that I snatched this morning before leaving the house, to see if she could find something.

I run behind Jace’s silver blond wolf at full speed. His nose has taken us to the middle of the forest where there is nothing but trees. Suddenly Jace’s wolf stops abruptly, and I bump into him, I shake my head and look at my surroundings. Veronica’s scent took us to an abandoned building. As we both look around the building inspecting it from afar something in my clicked.

“Remember this place?” I asked Jace through the mind link. Jace only looks at me with confusion in his eyes and I roll mine. “The building was burned down ages ago. When we were little, we used to sneak out of the pack house and come play here” I tell him and Jace’s eyes grow bigger, probably remembering all the time we snook out to come and play here. We never did find a way to sneak back into the pack house, we will always get caught whether be it my one of our parents or a warrior on patrol.

“You think they are hiding him in there?” Jace asked

“Let me see if I can get his scent” I tell him and close my eyes. I concentrate on William and his lavender scent. It takes a few seconds but there is a faint scent of his lavender scent.

“Its faint but he is here!” I say to Jace, and he lets his tongue dart of his mouth in excitement.

“Good you are all here” I say as I count the heads in the living room and everyone is here, waiting for the news I needed to share.

“What all the fuss about?” Danial asked getting irritated to be waiting. I roll my eyes at his impatience and let out a deep breath.

“I have news about William” I say and the mood in the room instantly lighten up. I feel Keaton’s excitement radiating out of him.

“Really?” He asked with a smile on his face, I’m sure his wolf is wagging his tail from side to side.

“I found a hide out at the west side of our pack territory” I say easily. LIES. It wasn’t west it was actually north, but I’m not about to tell them that, especially with Satan (aka Veronica) in the same room as us. Better to let her believe we have the wrong location, than letting her f**k everything for us.

“We will strike tomorrow night” Keaton said in his authoratize tone. “We are bringing our Alpha back once and for all” He finishes with a nod and everyone agreed.

“Keaton you go and rest, you are going to need it for tomorrow” I tell him as I walks over to him and place my hand on his shoulder, he quickly tensed up and looked down to me.

“Are you crazy? I’m not resting now that he is so close!” He exclaimed but I rolled my eyes.

“You need rest Keaton!” I tell him firmly as I tighten my hand on his shoulder, he winces a little and a smile crawl into my face. “Jade, Jace and I will stay up planning an attack plan” I tell him pointing at the people I mention, who gave Keaton a reassuring nod.

“I guess you are right”

“Don’t worry about anything Alpha, we will get it done and bring our Luna home” Jace said, and Keaton nodded, finally understanding that he is not needed and to go to sleep. As he walks away and in the direction of his room Veronica calls out to him and follows behind him like a lost little puppy. I roll my eyes at the scene.

Keaton POV

I walk into my room and sit down on my bed. With my hands on my face, I breath in and out. I’m getting William back. I’m getting my mate back!

Shit.

I still can’t wrap my head around it. Around the fact that my sister found a way to get my mate back.

A knock disturbs me from my thoughts, I smell her before I can see her. “You, okay?” Veronica asked as she poked her head inside my room.

“Yeah” I breath out. “Just a little tense, that’s all” I say as I rub a hand on my neck.

“I can see that” Veronica says as she walks and kneels down between my legs. “Maybe I can help you out” Veronica said in a slutty voice. She eyes me up and I let out a shaky breath. She gets up and places her hands on my chest and pushes me a little and I fall onto the bed. She crawls over me and kisses. I kiss her back and hold her head in my hands. We break apart from the kiss, and I look into her eyes, she licks her lips and I pull her face back into mine for another kiss. Nothing on my mind other than Veronica.
