I was busy with the papers I needed to file today. My day has been going smoothly since I came back here, I haven't found a job yet because almost everything is full or it's just not my forte.
And in the two weeks that the playboy a.k.a our boss has been gone, it's been two weeks that these documents that need his signature have been sitting here.
I really want to smack that guy for being so careless with his work. He must be with his women again, that's why he still hasn't come to the office. He's so good, he's so good, I really want to slam his lazy face.
"What about Saturday, let's go to a bar? I know a good bar to go to. The X-club, what do you say?" I know the club Annaliza is referring to. It has three branches, in Makati, Taguig and Mandaluyong.
We're in the canteen now for lunch. Mom packed me vegetables cooked in pinakbet, but without bagoong so I wouldn't smell like food in the office, and fried fish, so the only thing I bought here in the canteen was this halo-halo. I don't have a fever anymore and when I saw it in the canteen, I suddenly got hungry and bought it for dessert.
Since that incident happened, I suddenly didn't like buying or eating halo-halo, but now I want it, I got hungry so nothing can stop me.
"You guys? I just follow you wherever you want to go, as long as the bar is within budget, okay." I said while continuing to eat.
"Oh, that's fine, you have a lot of money, you spend a lot sometimes, but I'll introduce you to an afam there. Maybe you'll like him." Lorna added, so I just grimaced. My children are enough for me, so I'll just drink when I go to the bar, I won't do anything else or introduce myself. Period.
"Where is our boss? I miss him." Annaliza said dramatically. My face suddenly soured because I understood who she was referring to as boss. So I immediately turned to her. He's a playboy, day, don't get your hopes up, your heart will be broken. I wanted to tell her about our new boss's personality, but I just stopped myself, what if she asks me why I know everything about him.
Well, I don't actually know his whole personality, I just know his annoying side, but his dark heart, that's the thing I regret not knowing, if I did, I wouldn't be one of his victims.
"Hey, b***h! Are you angry at your fish head and you're about to pull its hair? It's already crushed, oh what a poor fish!" I was surprised because Lanie suddenly slapped my shoulder and laughed.
I looked down at what I was eating and she was right, I almost didn't know if I was angry at the fish even though I wasn't.
I was already done eating, I was still eating, while they were almost done, because I was going to devour this halo-halo, we'll just share it so it can be finished easily.
"Thank you, I'll look for the project proposal of the Romanoz and Valentino in the files later. Okay, thank you." I said on the other line.
After I moved the documents on top of my table closer to me, which were left by another department to double check before putting them on the playboy's office table. I was about to go back to my seat when my sitting position suddenly stopped in mid-air because someone cleared their throat in front of me.
"Miss Corpez, just send the documents to my office for signing before I leave." I was surprised, so I grabbed my chest. I really want to throw this vase I saw on my table at him again.
I didn't answer because he immediately left and hurried to walk into his office. As he turned his back, a memory came back. I immediately took a deep breath and looked at the ceiling to stop my tears from falling.
We've both moved on, especially him. He doesn't care anymore, so why do I have to suffer? Why do I keep going back to the beginning where I feel sorry for myself. But no, I need to fight in life. I need to forget the person who made me suffer during those times. It's enough for me to be with my children. They're the only ones who make me feel alive.
I hurried to walk to his office carrying these documents so I could give them to him immediately and leave in front of him.
His office door was slightly open, but it would be rude to just barge in. I knocked three times, I added one more before I heard his voice saying 'come in'.
I immediately went in without looking him in the eye. I'll just get more angry at him. Until I find another job, I'll just endure being here in this company. "Here are the latest documents you need to sign, sir." I said and placed them on his table.
He immediately lifted his body from leaning back in his swivel chair and opened the documents there. I didn't leave yet, maybe he needs something else. It's all just work, no feelings involved. I should stay focused and remain professional when it comes to work, because I'm getting paid here.
I frowned when I saw him signing the documents without even checking them, what if there are documents that he's against. For heaven's sake… this guy is so lazy.
"Sir! You have to read it first, before signing it. There might be documents that you haven't approved yet." I suddenly froze because he suddenly lifted his head, we almost made eye contact, thank goodness I immediately looked away and my eyes were on the paper.
"I guess you already read this. Where do you think was not approved by you then I won't sign it, Miss Corpez? Or you can send me the details through email." This guy is really something. Who's the boss between us here?
"Sir, as far as I know-"
"Here! I'm done. Schedule for me the meeting of Mr. Valentino, and the next day will be Mr. Romanoz and Elizcalde on another day and the rest, it's up to you." Huh?
"But sir-"
"I have a meeting this afternoon, so I have to go and see you tomorrow, Miss Corpez. You can go home early if you want, too." The heck. Is that all he came here for?
For heaven's sake… this bastard.
