JUST AS WE WERE WRAPPING up breakfast, we were interrupted by a volley of knocks on the front door. I excused myself from the table and went to answer it, only to find Noah, Jake, and Zac waiting for me with identical expressions of excitement. I looked between the three of them. “What’s up, guys?” “Hunting season is what’s up, man!” Noah reached out and cuffed me on the shoulder. “C’mon, we’re heading into the forest on guard duty.
