I returned with cash as requested. I pushed the door open and entered the lounge once more. As she’d promised, they had waited for me. The waitress stood and smiled when I entered.  “So glad you came back. You got it all?” She stuck her open hand out toward me. I placed ten one hundred-dollar bills in her hand. She pulled it back and counted twice.  “Excellent. I’ll take the two of you to a suite upstairs. Do follow me.” She grabbed the pixie-haired woman by the shoulders and led her from the room. It was almost like a frog march. The young woman hung her head and shuffled her feet.  I followed them to the stairs. The same guard from the other night opened the velvet rope to allow us to pass.
