Two| Hello Emilia

The fresh crisp air hit my face as I step off of the plane in Italy. My red converses hitting the ground, and my blonde hair flowing around my shoulders.  I had called my closest friend Emilia, saying to her that I was back in Italy and that I needed a place to stay for a night. She responded with a squeal and an excited yes.  “Flo!” An excited yell overcame my eardrums and I turned to face my redheaded best friend - who flung her arms around me in a suffocating hug.  “I missed you,” Emilia says, and I chuckle as I lean my forehead against her shoulder - Emilia knew about my life in the Italian mafia and honestly didn’t mind one bit. We had been childhood friends for god sake. “I’m so sorry E, I should’ve kept in contact but I knew if I did. L would’ve tracked my phone number to you. You could’ve gotten killed.” I say and she chuckles.  “It’s alright F, I understand - but I don’t think your siblings will much.” She says, and I tilt my head to the side as I pull my red coated lips between my teeth. “I know, let’s get out of here before anyone recognises me.” I say, and Emilia nods before grabbing my hand and dragging me towards the car park. &&& I pulled my legs up beside me on the window sill off Emilia’s bedroom, the smell of the cigarette that was burning in my hand was circling around the room like a cloud.  “So, talk to me. How was the past seven years?” E asks as she enters the room, not even bothered by the smell of the smoke. I guess that’s what happens when you spend your time around Giovanni and Lorenzo. Both were only six years older than me and I was 20 so there both 26, while Gino is twenty five, Leo is twenty four and Philipe is twenty three - the twins Cilla and Emerald are twenty two and my younger sister Gina is 16. “What do you want to know?” I question her and she sits down beside me.  “Do you still carry guns on you?” She questions, and I smirk pulling the gun out of my shoe, taking the magazine out of it and putting it down beside me - and then the one from my inside pocket and doing the same to it.  “Yeah, I do.” I say, running my fingers through my matted hair. “I guess, I never grew out of the habit of having them everywhere I go. You can never be too safe, like Gio says.” I say, letting out a laugh as I quoted my brother.  “Do you miss them?” Emilia shoots and I look down at my hands as I fiddle with them.  “Never a day without thinking about them constantly.” I admitted, it had been hard without any of my brothers or sisters - I had always had a large family so going down to only to depending on myself. Was largely different, “Restiamo uniti come uno, sei una famiglia.” Emilia says, and my eyes widened as she recited the mafia code.  “My god Emilia, when did you get into our life?” I question her and she gives me a small smile.  “About three years ago, I was really close to your family. I was wondering, if you would come train with me outside just now?” She questions and I nod before putting my cigarette out and throwing it outside the window. “Let’s go Bellissima,” I Say and we headed outside. &&& Emilia tried to hit me on my stomach but I blocked by tripping her backwards, “Watch your back leg, as soon as you go for the stomach - your legs are vulnerable.” I say to her as she hits me in the jaw.  This causes me to go flying backwards into the sand with a thud especially since her punches have gotten harder since the last time I had seen her. “Okay, remind me not to piss you off.” I say letting out a small laugh. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you. I’m just letting some anger out.” She says, and I let my hands falter. She saw this and took her own hands down and pulls her lip between her two front teeth.  “Who’s pissing you off?” I question her, and she sighs.  “Giovanni’s being hard on us, there’s been some threats made towards someone - and we’re trying to figure it out.” She says, and I looked at her confused. “I think I still have the photos of them somewhere.” She says, picking her phone up and scrolling through some photos.  “Here,” She says handing me the phone and my eyes scanned the threats before they widened.  “Merda, when did these come through?" I question her, and she looks at me confused. "Like what week or month or date even?" I question her. "The first of September. Why?" She questions me and I blow out a resilient piece of hair. "Do you know who these threats are towards?" She asks me and I nod.  "Me," I answered, before turning around and throwing the white wraps in my bag. "I've got to get out of here before you get hurt," I say to her and she grabs my arm. "Flo, it's fine - we've got plenty of guns in the house. We'll talk to your family tomorrow." She says, and I pulled my lip between my teeth before nodding in agreement - before pulling her into a tight hug. I checked our surroundings to make sure there was no one around before pulling her inside and locking all the doors - I didn't need any bloody murder scenes tonight, when I knew there was soon to be an all out war either her in Italy or in the states, I knew it was coming.  And it had been brewing since I had left.
