The warmth around me made my whole body calm. But there was somethingーI couldn't breathe. No matter how hard I tried to inhale, there was no air. And I could not afford to breathe at this moment.
I gripped Damon tightly. Air escaped through his lungs. He couldn't breathe. I could feel his suffocation through the bond. I could feel his pain.
His eyes bored into mine. He was calmer than ever.
The depth was warm. No wind, no chills, just total silence and the thick stream of water around us. We just couldn't surface.
