Chapter 5

Damien pov   I carried Red into the nurse's office. When I saw the football coming towards her, my heart went to my ass. Then she hit the floor and I think my heart stopped. Both Brayden and I were shocked. She was doing all these cool flips until that football. Her guy base had at least tried to break her fall. Now I'm in the nurse's office, the nurse was checking her out, she took a look at her wrist and moved it around gently. She went to the refrigerator and got some ice, "keep this on your wrist." she looked over Ben and deemed him fine to go back to class but if he started to feel any pain to come right back, he nodded took a look at Red and left. The nurse turned back to Red, "I'm gonna send you home, okay. Then I want you to go to the hospital to get checked out for a concussion and to see about her wrist." Red nodded, "do you want me to call your mom or do you?"    "I will.' she said immediately   Strange. The nurse nodded and went back to what she was doing. I helped Red down and held on her as she wobbled. We walked into the hallway and went back to the lockers. I changed out of my gym clothes and waited in the hallway for Red. She walked out as soon as I stepped out of the locker room, she was still wearing her gym clothes but she had her backpack on her shoulder. I guess she put her clothes in her bag. She looked at, "Thanks for taking me to the nurse."     I smiled a little, "you're welcome." she smiled back and continued walking. I jogged up to her and stopped her, "do you have a ride home?"    She looked at me, then sighed "no." she stated.    I looked at the time, there were ten minutes left of class then school was finished. I held up a finger then I texted Aiden, "Can we take Red to the hospital?" I pressed send. I waited a little bit then my phone buzzed, he replied "sure :) meet you by the car."    "We can take you... If you want that is." I said    She looked at me long and hard, she nodded "thank you."  "your welcome." I smiled  I wrapped an arm over her shoulders and led her out the doors, the sun was shining brightly when we stepped out of the building. Red winced and shut her eyes, "s**t that's bright."  I laughed, "well... it is the sun."    I turned towards her and picked her up bridal style, "you can cover your face in my chest." I told her    She did just that. I smiled at her. She's different from the others if it was anyone else you wouldn't be able to spot it, but you can tell that she's miserable with her life. But the question is why? I decided that I want to help her, and judging from the others so far I think they feel the same. I made it to the car and sat down until the other showed.                                                                              ☆☆☆☆    I was keeping an eye on Red, she was still awake which is good since she had a concussion. I heard footsteps and looked up, the guys were coming. They stopped when they saw Red. She must've heard them cause she turned around and smiled weakly at them, "Hey, what's up." she said  They looked at her like she was crazy, Ryker was the one who broke the silence "whats up, WHATS UP!" he yelled causing her to wince, "what happened to you?" he said quieter once he saw my glare.      "I was practicing cheer during gym, I fell and hit the ground." she shrugged like it was no big deal    Andrew spoke up, "you say it like it happened before."   She shrugged again, "yea, I mean when you stunt you always get hurt but I've had worse than this." she mumbled the last part.  I stood up and looked around, we were only missing Aiden and Brayden. I set her feet on the ground and soon I heard running footsteps and saw Red being engulfed in a hug by Brayden, "Oh my gosh Red, are you okay? I saw you go down. That must've hurt, you could've died. OH MY GOSH RED! Are you okay?"   She laughed lightly, "Brayden. Breathe. I'm fine."   He took a breath and looked her over, "you sure?"   "yea, just a sprained wrist and most likely a concussion. No big deal," she said   Bray nodded, "we taking her to the hospital?"   "yea," I said as Aiden arrived. He unlocked the doors and everyone hopped in. There were no more seats so Red plopped herself on my lap, I wrapped my arms around her waist and she got comfy.    "how's it going teach?" She asked Aiden smiling as the car moved.   He smiled at her, "nothing much, just taking this student to the hospital."   She smiled, "do I know them possibly." she joked  We all laughed at her, "you might. She wears pink, has a hello kitty bag, brown hair with a bow." He said to her   She made a face, "I don't know anyone that wears pink." She smiled as she leaned back against my chest, "if you're talking about me, I'm not wearing pink. I'm wearing maroon."    We all laughed. She got us there. At the moment she wasn't wearing pink, she was wearing the stupid school uniform and the color suited her better than that horrid color. She relaxed more as we talked with her. All too soon we arrived at the hospital. Everything was white and smelled sterile, grey chairs were in the waiting room with a couple of vending machines. Red and Aiden went up to the counter talking to the lady. Once they were done they sat down on the chairs and we waited until we were called. I heard something vibrate and Red pulled her phone out, she frowned and typed something and put it away.    "Scarlett White!" someone called, we looked up and a nurse was motioning us to go in. They did what they normally do and they had her waiting in a room for the doctor to come. Aiden stood by the wall, Brayden sat on Ryker's lap, Andrew took the other seat. Scarlett was sitting on the bed and I leaned against it next to her. She was swinging her feet back and forth like kids do.   The doctor came in moments later. He was middle-aged. He had glasses over his black eyes, he had brown hair styled neatly. He was in a pair of scrubs with a white lab coat, and he had a computer in his hands. He placed the computer on the counter and turned to us, "Scarlett?" He looked around at us.    "right here." She said raising her hand. Ryker snickered, Brayden smiled while the rest of us chuckled.    "Okay what happened?" he asked   "well, I was cheering and I got hit with a ball when I was in the air. It threw me off so I didn't land right. Hit my arm on the floor and landed on the mat. Now my wrist hurts and I got a headache." She explained   He nodded and checked her wrist out. Then he checked out her head, "okay. It looks like a mild concussion and a sprained wrist."   She nodded, "can I cheer?"   He shook his head no, "if it was only the wrist then I would've said yes but since you also happen to have a concussion too then you can't. Sorry."    She smiled but it looked forced, "Its okay. Nothing you can do about it. So keep it wrapped and add ice and wake me up periodically right."   The doctor nodded, "correct. You're free to go home." She nodded and stood up. I looked over at the guys, they were looking at her the same way. How did she know the procedures so well?    Her phone buzzed and she looked at it, "I'm gonna go to the bathroom." she sighed as she left the room.    "That was weird," I said to the guys   They all nodded, "yea, I know. How did she know the procedures already?" Drew asked   "Did you see her face when her phone rang," Bray said, we all nodded. She looked depressed like someone killed her cat. I wonder who was on the phone to make her like that.
