Chapter 19 Keira and I were in math class, flirting heavily when we were interrupted by Mr. Dunphy. This time, he wasn’t scolding us, though. “Ms. Mitchell, happy birthday!” He cheerfully said. Today, he didn’t have crumbs in his beard, which made his smile much more charming. “Thank you, sir,” she said before turning her attention to her backpack. She pulled out her notebook and pencil and I was curious as to why she suddenly was so interested in her studies. I was also curious about something else. “It’s your birthday? Why didn’t you tell me?” I asked her loudly. “It’s no big deal,” she said nonchalantly. “It is a big deal!” I loved birthdays and celebrations. My friends said I could be a bit too enthusiastic, but that never stopped me. She shrugged and flipped through the pages.
