That was what happened when someone spent years living in fear. Even when the danger was gone, the memory of it remained. But Raven’s Creek had been kind to her. The people had welcomed her. Martha and Harold had given her a home. Cole had helped her when she had nothing. And Leonidas... She didn't want to think too much about Leonidas. Because every time she did, her heart became a little less guarded. And that scared her. The morning began like any other. The bakery was warm. The coffee was brewing. Customers filled the tables. Ophelia was laughing with Martha when the bell above the door rang. A man stepped inside.
