Today is the big day for the Beta's twins. It's their 18th birthday and they will finally be able to find their mates. The birthdays of members in the pack are always the most stressful and blissful night for us Omega's, since we are allowed an early night off on the day of a pack members birthday. That is as long as we have completed all of the mandatory chores and tasks for the day.
It is obviously because the other pack members didn't want us Omega's around during the intimate celebration. However all of us Omega's put everything into the preparations of the birthday parties, we often work ourselves to exhaustion to ensure that the pack members have the perfect night. Tonight is no exception, I have spared no effort in preparing this evenings celebration for the Beta's children.
I didn't allow the grin on my face to fall today as I completed my chores and helped out with the multiple tasks that needed to be completed. No matter what insults are spat at me and no matter how many slaps in the face I received. I took everything with a grin on my face because today is a special day.
Even though my family has disowned me, it can never erase the fact that it is my birthday today as well. The Beta couple actually had triplets; Tylor, Annabelle and I. Tylor and I are actually twins, and we used to be very close because we have the connection that most twins do. That changed after my parents disowned me though, they told Tylor and Annabelle to forget about me and taught them to act as if I never existed and that they are twins.
It's still painful to think about. I spent many years hating my family and the pack for how they completely forgot about me and how they treated me. Until I saw one of the packs past Omega's find her mate. The pain of my family and packs betrayal didn't matter to me anymore. It's okay if my family and pack don't want me and can't accept me for who I am. Since I am going to find my mate, the one who will love me unconditionally, the man that will protect me from this cruel life of mine. Who will create a new life with me that I have always been told tales of and read books about.
I have been waiting 18 years for this night. The night I have dreamed, hoped and prayed for since my parents told me what a mate is.
"Charlie!" My name is called from inside, I race to the dining room to find Daisy waiting for me.
"What's up pup?" Daisy looks at me with a pout,
"You know I don't like that nickname Char." I chuckle at how cute and childish she is.
"sorry sweetie, What's the matter?"
Daisy is one of the youngest Omega's the pack has. The other is her twin sister Lilly, they look identical but their personalities are completely different. Daisy is sweet, gentle and quiet. Where as Lilly is loud, bossy and bonkers, even for a seven year old.
"I can't reach the cups in the top cupboard and Hali is busy decorating the basement."
"Okay, how about I take care of the cups and you take care of the cutlery."
"Okay!" She races off into the kitchen making me chuckle at her excitement and innocence.
"Be careful! No running with pointy objects!"
It took us 15 hours all together to finish our chores and complete all the preparations for tonight. We are all completely exhausted as we report to the Luna, letting her know that everything was finished and the night was ready to begin. I march up the stairs to the attic for a much needed nap.
I can't wait to find my mate

I'm woken up by the impact of 2 small bodies landing on me.
"Wake up Char Char!" Lilly screams in my ear almost making me go deaf. I groan loudly to let the girls know that I am indeed awake now but also because my body is aching from all the beatings of the last few days. A bunch of giggles fills the room making my eyes snap open. I look around me to see everyone sitting in a circle around me.
"Okaaaay, this is the second most terrifying thing I've ever woken up to." The room erupts in laughter,
"Wait, what's the number one most terrifying thing you've ever woken up to then?" DeeDee asks me from my left.
"Halina while she was sleeping next to me, seriously, she look like she was possessed." There's a chorus of snorts, chuckles and giggles around me while Halina glares and curses at me.
'Don't be mean to my Hali, Char." Daisy grumbles at me resulting in all of us Omegas cooing at her adoringly.
"So why exactly am I being woken up at this ungodly hour?"
"Because it's almost time for the count down!" Adira holds a cupcake towards me.
"Oh my god, how....what.....is this okay? I mean, am I allowed to even be holding this?" I question everyone panicked.
"Calm down scaredy-cat, it's perfectly fine, we already checked with Luna." I sigh in relief and instantly relax.
"Okay, now it's time to light the candle!" Bree squeals. She pulls out a candle from her pocket and sticks the Barbie pink monstrosity in the middle of the chocolate cupcake and lights it.
Then the count down begins

Everyone cheers with joy, I have never been this happy in my entire life until this moment. Until this irresistible aroma hits me full force and I automatically recognize it as my mates smell.
"Mate" a deep growl comes from the door way of the attic. My head snaps towards the sound of the voice and I'm met with vibrant green eyes that are filled with so much love, desire and kindness that it takes my breath away.
That is until the beautiful emotions are crushed with disgust, hate and anger. It's then that I realise, my mate is the future Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack
