Chapter 2 : Hiring

Im still sitting at my chair in my own office. While reviewing the papers that laid on my desk. When someone, suddenly barged in.

"Yow! What a workaholic man." Luiz said when he enter my office and casually take his seat on one of my couch.

"You should freshen up from this papers, dude." he said and grab the liqiour infront of him.

"No. You should be serious in your life." I said while reading the papers.

"Dude, stop that." he said and he sit properly facing me, while he was holding a shotglass full of liquor and he drink it straight.

"You will grow old with these papers. So, boring!" he said and I can sense that he add another one to his shotglass of liqiour.

"Stop for awhile and have some fun! Your company was on the top of all Liqiour companies afterall!" he added with a persuasive tone.

I drop the papers that Im holding to the table and seriously face my one and only friend.

"You should be the one to stop being a womanizer and a party man." I retorted him.

He looked at me and acting that he's hurt by my words while clenching his fist and rub into his chest.

"I am not a womanizer, dude! Im just a human magnet. They keep coming to me." he said and still dramatically holding his chest.

I grab the papers and continue reading with those.

"Talk to the wall, Luiz." I said while doing my business.

"Dude, Im just living my life into the fullest!" he reasoned out and drank the liqiour.

I looked back at him and I saw my friend with his visible pouty lips.

"Really?" I ask mockingly at him.

"Yes!" he exclaimed immediately.

Because of that, I continue my reading to the papers. Showing him that 'I don't care'.

"Tch. You have no fun, dude. No fun." he said and refill his shotglass again with the liqiour.

Im still reviewing the papers, and signed some of those. Then, grab other papers to review and sign again.

"Im just worried about you." he suddenly burst out.

My forhead got furrowed. I drop the papers, and looked to Luiz.

Out of curiosity...

I stand up from my chair and grab the liqiour he drank. To my surprise, it was one of the liquior that has a high alcohol percentage.

"You work everyday, dude!" he added and he raise his shotglass to take a sip.

But I immediately take the shotglass away from him.

"You're like a living robot who used to live with these papers. Like you were program to do this." he said while hugging himself and show his pouty lips.

Showing that he was sad for me.

"If that's how you see me, then it is." I replied to the drunk man who was nearly to cry right now.

"But you were a human, right?" he asked and sniff a little.

I unconsciously facepalm myself when I saw his state. He looks so awful.

"I am." I answer his stupid question, and it makes me stupid too. To answer an obvious question.

"Its obvious, that Im a human." I said in my mind.

"I don't think so." he added and cuddle himself.

"What?" I ask him and stand up to go near at him. I think anytime he would pass out or something.

"I don't think so, Ace." he repeated with my name.

"Tch. Get back to your senses, Luiz!" I said and slowly shaking him by holding his shoulders to wake up his senses.

"Dude, I am the one to tell you that!" he answered and hold my hands to stop me from shaking him.

"It makes me dizzy. I want to vomit." he added and that's the reason I let him go.

"Who told you to drink an 85% alcohol percentage liqiour, huh?" I scold him like a father.

"I didn't know!" he shot back and cross his arms with his famous pouty lips.

"And you just had two full shotglass of this! Bravo, amigo!" I sarcastically said to him and gave him a slow clap.

"Thank you, dude! Thank you!" he said and smile to me like an i***t.

"God. Why did I have a friend like you?" I mumble while watching him trying his best to stand up from the couch.

Then, he succesfully dizzly stand up and waggle his way to the bathroom in my office. I unconsciously face palm again.

I march back to my table to continue my business. But before that, I grab the telephone.

"Yes, Mr. Johnsons. How may I he-" I cut her words when I respond immediately.

"Bring me a pain reliever and ready a drink that helps for a drunk person to my office." I ordered.

"Noted, Mr. Johnsons" she answer, and with that I end the call.

I continue my work and let my friend do his thing in the bathroom.

Since I didn't have anything to do, in a reason I move all my sched tomorrow. I'll do review all the paperworks for today and tomorrow.

....

"I borrow your shirt, dude." Luiz inform me when he gets out from the bathroom and settle himself to the couch.

He heavily sit down on the couch, and slowly massage his temple. I let him do his thing in there. While, Im busy doing my own business too.

Then, someone knocks to the door of my office.

"Mr. Johnsons. The pain reliever, tea, and your lunch is ready." someone inform behind the door.

"Come in." I answer back while my face was showing no emotion at all.

A woman with a office attire enter the office while holding the foodtray. She march her way to the table and laid the foodtray there. Just infront of Luiz.

The woman obediently bow down a little of her head and march her way back out from the office.

"There's a pain reliever and a drink to smothen your little hangover." I said while arranging the papers in my table and I didnt even look at him.

"Ow, so you're a human hmm?" he asked then chuckle a little. I can sense that he still tipsy.

"I dont want to put my own company in a big scandal. With the headline of 'The CEO have poison his only friend'" I said while paying attention to the papers that Im busy at.

"Im happy you cared for me." he mumble but I can hear it, since the room was soundproof.

"Just in case you were poison for taking a high alcohol percentage of our liqiour. It's the company loss. You were at my office, idiot." I added that makes him stomp his feet to the floor.

"Why did you always deny, dude?!" he said in a frustrated manner.

"I didn't deny anything." I stated while continuing my business with the papers.

"You just deny that you didn't care to other people! Especially, your friend and that's me!" he exclaimed and he add some actions ended up pointed himself.

"Just take the pain reliever and the drink, Luiz." I lastly ordered him, even if he was not my employee.

I see in my corner of my eyes that he gulped a little and obediently drink the pain reliever and after minutes he slowly drink the other one.

"I think its the tea?" I unconsciously ask on my mind.

After I finish to arranged the papers that I signed today. I grab another pile of papers for tomorrow and start them again.

After minutes or hour, my stomach was totally grumpy.

"Luiz, kindly pass my lunch." I said while signing one of the papers that I approved.

No one answer.

"Luiz." I call him again but still no one answer.

My forehead got furrowed, and Im getting annoyed already. I shift my gaze in his direction and I see him silently snoring while his mouth was widely open.

I heavily sighed and walk to his direction. As I looked in the table, I see an empty plate, glass for water, and empty teacup.

I irritatedly slam my hand into his shoulder, that makes him wakes up and his eyes was alert to his surroundings.

"WHO THE f**k SLAP MY PRECIOUS SHOULDER!" he exclaimed while shifting his gaze and lastly ended to me.

"Me" I said and raised a brow to him and still irritatedly walk back to my table and grab the telephone.

"Yes, Mr. Joh-" I cut her out again.

"Bring me lunch again and clean the mess in my office." I said and ended the call immediately.

"Why dude? Why?" Luiz asked while rubbing his temple.

I didnt gave him my attention and focus on the papers.

"Dude, wha-" he cut his own words when someone knocks in.

"Come in." I command and the someone behind the door barged in with a food and bring someone who clean the mess on the table.

She obediently lay the food in my table. As I, arrange the papers side to side.

I elegantly took the fork and spoon to start my lunch.

"Oh. Im sorry d-" he cut his word again when someone knock the door and to find out it was my assitant who enter the office with the company's auttorney.

I took a table napkin to wipe any mess on my mouth or something.

"As you order, Mr. Johnsons." Fuentes said, his one of my assitant and bow his head a little and walk his way out on my office.

"Luiz" I call my friend and he stand up 'out of his will' and immediately march his way out to my office.

"Me and together with the company's security department talk about the case-" he stop his own words when I raise my hand. Sign to stop for a moment.

"It's there any benefits for the parents of Ms. Miller?" I ask him.

"Well it's depends if you would like to gave them the benefits." he stated and that's make me raise my hand and scratch my chin.

"Visit the parents of Ms. Miller. Gave them the right benefits, that's all the reason why I call you here." I said and he obediently nodded.

"I know you can handle together with the security department about the case. I trust you." I added.

"So that's all. Dismiss." I officially stated before he can form a words gratitude or such.

He smile a little and bow his head and leave the office.

I continue eating my food, and call my other employee to clean the mess on my table.

Then, I continue my paperworks as usual.

...

"Come in" I stated when someone knocks the door of my office. I raise my head to them and saw Salazar and his partner.

"Mr. Johnsons, the hiring for your new secretary was done. And this three folders." Salazar inform and signal his hand to his partner to gave me the folders.

He obediently gave me the folders and I slowly read their bio-data.

"Sakura Faye Vera, Lucy Nate Templeton, and Aurora Eleanor Davis. They are the choosen who pass all the regulations for being your secretary, Mr. Johnsons." Salazar stated and I review their datas one by one.

They're data was fine, and I turn the page to the second page. The second page was their promises for the company or for their employer and such.

When Im gonna be your secretary, I will do my duty with loyalty and respect. I promise not gonna keep bugging something and I promise to help the company to stay what they are now.

-Lucy Nate Templeton

I may not be perfect, but I promise to work perfectly for the company to have a great future and also mine.

I promise. I will help you Mr. Johnsons to aim all tops for the company! I promise, Mr. Johnsons!

-Aurora Eleanor Davis

I don't want to make promises. Promise are meant to be broken. So, I won't promise anything for this company. No more promises, because I can do what people can do. I gonna do my best, with a smile plastered to my face. I wanna spread the positivity in everyone who was surrounded with negativity. I will change someone's life who was program to do just work, and Im gonna start my will. When Im gonna be your secretary. I hope you can hired me. The life was too precious. Smile as you can, smile when its not too late.

"So, what now Mr. Johnsons?" Salazar suddenly ask, and Im surprise that I found out I just make a smirk while reading the last promise of the last person.

"Their datas was fine. But they have different potential." I commented then grab one folder to Salazar and the other folders I gave it to his partner.

"Call the number, She's hired." I told Salazar and let my back relax with the chair.

He immediately check the name of the choosen secretary and he show me a smile.

"Noted, Mr. Johnsons." he said and they bow their heads a little and they head out from my office.

"Who it is?" Luiz asked excitedly, when he suddenly barged in to my office.

"What?" I ask him boredly while get some papers and start reading.

"Your new secretary!" he exclamed like a tone of 'Whatever'.

"The new secretary of Johnsons Liqiour Corporation is..." I boredly said and he immediately cut out when he slam his hands the table.

"Whooooo?" he asked again.

"Aurora Eleanor Davis." I officially stated to him.

"We'll see what you can do." I said only in my mind.
