Two days later.
The school w******p group was on fire.
"Did you see it?"
"Soheeh is cheating on Tara??"
"With Sefirah??"
Tara stared at her phone. Her hands were shaking.

Sefirah.
"Meet me behind the lab at 4pm. I miss you - S"

"BABE!" Soheeh ran into the class. "Tell me you don’t believe this rubbish!"
Tara didn’t look up. "Why would Sefirah have your number?"
"Because we’re in the same project group!"

Silence.
The whole class was watching.
Fikayo leaned back in his chair and smiled. "Wow. Head Girl and Head Boy’s boyfriend. Messy."
Femi stood up. "Shut up, Fikayo."
"Or what?" Fikayo stood too. "The truth hurts abi?"
Kikky pulled Tara outside. "Don’t cry here. Not in front of them."
Tara wiped her eyes fast. "I’m not crying. I’m just... tired."
That evening, "Operation Break Soheeh & Tara" was trending on the school status.
Sefirah posted a selfie. Caption: Some girls can’t keep their man 😌
Fikayo reposted it.
Soheeh called Tara 17 times. She didn’t pick up.
At night, Tara sat on her bed with her diary.
She wrote one line:
If we don’t survive final year together, then what was the point?
Her phone buzzed.
Unknown number.

Tara looked at the message.
Her heart was beating.
