The bell rang.
Final year had officially begun at Hamshat Delight High.
"Tara! Wait for me!"
Tara turned around with a smile. Her uniform was still too neat. Her books were arranged. Head Girl vibes.
Behind her, 7 voices shouted at once.
"The Stars are back!"
"Waec year! We must graduate together o!"
"No boyfriend scatter o!"
That was them. The 10 Stars. Well... 8 Stars now.
Tara, Soheeh, Femi, Kikky, Sophia, David, Ife, Temi, Okiki and Kate.
Soheeh walked up to Tara and squeezed her hand. "Final year. No wahala."
Tara laughed. "Say that again when Waec starts."
The compound was loud. New students. Old grudges. And one new student that nobody saw coming.
A black SUV parked at the gate.
Out came Fikayo.
Designer bag. iPhone 15. Attitude of a politician’s son.
Because he was one.
He looked straight at Tara.
And smiled.
"So this is Hamshat Delight High," he muttered. "Let's see how long your boyfriend lasts."
Beside the gate, Sefirah was watching. She flipped her hair and whispered into her phone.
"Operation Break Soheeh & Tara has begun."
Inside the class, the Principal entered.
Her face was tired.
"I have one announcement," she said. "This year, you will all organize a Drama Night. Theme: Bitter Sweet."
The class groaned.
Tara and Soheeh looked at each other.
They had no idea...
that "Bitter Sweet" was about to become their real life.
