Name: Elana Blackwell

Role: Main character - Unknown heir to the werewolf throne

Family: 

Elana is the adoptive daughter of Mason and Julie Blackwell. Her parents never shared any information about her birth parents, claiming they didn't know anything and that it was a closed adoption. While curious about her past, Elana was always fairly contented with her life, things always just seemed to fall into place and she rarely suffered. Elana is close with her parents, although taking the opportunity to spread her wings a bit has decreased the level of dependence she once felt. She feels confident that she can handle things on her own and primarily calls her parents to check in every now and then.

Elana doesn't have any siblings and most of her extended family live out of state.

Physical Appearance: 

Fairly thin, but attractive with light brown hair and green eyes. She has a strong jawline and a sharp nose, but a gentle softness in the rest of her face. She likes to wear jewelry, although tends to stick with simpler things. She always wears makeup and dresses in fashion-friendly but not snotty clothes. High-bred type, while still considerate and down to earth.

Role Explained: 

Elana is the heir to the werewolf throne, but as such poses a threat to those around her. Werewolves were long ago tasked with controlling and eliminating dangerous dark forces in the world, being the barrier between the supernatural and human world. They did such a great job that most humans don't even know that the world is supernatural at all. When Elana's suppressed abilities are released upon the meeting of her mate, the dark forces, which have been gaining in strength for generations, rise up to kill the new queen before she comes into full power and returns the werewolves to their original purpose.

As word spreads of her existence, other packs don't want to lose their own power and do what they can to either get her on their side or kill the potential threat to their power.

Wants:

Elana wants to find her place in the world, but when she discovers her inner werewolf, all she wanted was to gain some control over her shifting. Given her mated bond, she would also like to have a relationship with Zane but, unfortunately, that's not possible while she's still shifting uncontrollably. 

History:

Elana was removed from her home when born due to her unexpected nature. Her parents were both powerful Alphas, but when they discovered that she was a fire wolf, even they knew they wouldn't be able to protect her. They took her to a witch to bind her gifts. They knew that a strong enough emotional burst could shatter the protection, but it was her best chance.

Unwilling to endanger her further by keeping her close, they opted to put the child up for adoption. It was luck that they did too; mere days after her adoption both of her parents were killed by unclassified creatures. No one knew exactly what could have caused the damage that they found, but no known creatures left such marks. 

Elana remained hidden until she turned 23 when she found her mate while walking down the street.
