Introduction

INTRODUCTION

Sobs can be heard inside the dark temple. Only a flickering light from an old oil lamp can be seen. The shadow it projects is of a girl in a torn dress. The girl is all curled up in a corner and hugging her knees while being surrounded by flowers trampled on the floor. Her golden hair all messed up, tears creased her fair skin. The taste of blood still in her mouth while her neck and body are full of bite marks. She looked like a mouse that was ravaged by a beast. She couldn't help but cry with her state just below the enormous statue of her beloved goddess Athena. A man whom she didn't see its face had defiled her. Her purity destroyed and now she is unworthy to serve the temple as she has dreamed of.

As the girl cried her heart out a silhouette of light walks toward her. As it came near her it's light is giving her warmth that makes her calm. Feeling that she is being embraced by a warm blanket her constant sobs had stopped gradually. She slowly looked up and saw the silhouette of light is in a form of a lady, unable to see its face with all the light it radiates around she felt somehow at ease knowing that it is a goddess that has come to her.

“My child,” the lady covered by light spoke with all its gentleness. It didn't move as it stayed in front of the lovely girl. The eyes behind the silhouette of light seemed to burn with anger despite its gentle voice. It somehow covers the hatred and jealousy it possesses. The girl raised its' head slowly and tried to envision the face behind the silhouette of light.

“My Lady,” and the lovely blonde girl broke into sobs, bowed, and groveled beneath the silhouette of light. “have mercy on me, I only wish to serve your temple and honor thy name.” Her tears wet the floor where the silhouette stands. She continuously cried her heart out at her Lady's feet and the silhouette tried to pity her.

“Let me take your sorrow, and protect you with what I can... Your beauty is your strength. As your eyes radiate  a gaze of love and hate let these men turn to stone as they try to reach and possess you.” Then, the lady covered with light reached out her hand and touched the girl's blonde hair. She took a few strands of it and place it in a small golden pull string bag. “As gentle and soft as your golden hair let me give you a new crown that will protect you.”

After that, the Lady covered with the light gave a sinister smile and the girl lost her consciousness.
