Truth About Ra

With the special class move on to Marcus, Amon, and Abel’s residence during the weekend, the headmaster spent his time investigating the cause of how the dormitory was destroyed and find who the culprit responsible. But even with his excessive investigation, nothing turns up. All he got was the feeling of something sinister lingering at the torn down establishment.

               “Did you find anything?” he asked his assistant who immediately shook his head. “Nothing headmaster, there were no signs of fighting nor signs of people being here after the building was built.” His assistant reported as the headmaster shook his head with a disappointed sigh. [Who would be responsible for this? The three allowed the others to stay in their residence but I can’t just exploit their good will. The builders said that they are going to take longer than a month to fix everything and I have already swore to them that the repairs will only take a month.] the headmaster caress his temples.

               “If there is nothing here then let’s just leave. I can feel that the culprit is not something that we can handle alone if he is leaving such sinister traces of aura then that means he is one of those race.” The headmaster orders as he and his party leaves the scene without anything in their hands.

               Meanwhile, Nana is still pestering Amon of the same thing that angered Abel. “Stop that you filthy woman. How dare you talk to the young master like that!” Abel stare daggers at Nana who is just enjoying toying with Abel as Amon breaks them away but Nana takes this as an opportunity to grab Amon’s arm and pulls him to her and embrace him, making most of the girls in the mansion jealous, even the princess Joanna who immediately broke her spoon with sheer strength alone.

               “Let go of my young master you woman or I will be forced to use violence.” Abel said as the air above him started to swirl and turn into magic arrows. “Okay, let’s stop this. Miss Nana please stop angering Abel, any more would make him do what he declares and that is not beneficial to anyone here inside the mansion.” Amon said as Nana lets him go easily. “Okay then but promise to play with me later.” She said with a seducing wink that Amon did not understand at all.

               After the simple commotion, Marcus takes this as an opportunity to tell everyone that their pet is coming and that they should not act frantically right after seeing it. “Is your pet a wild boar or something? Monsters are still animals after all so dealing with them is easy.” Nolan said and all of the nobles inside his circle agrees to his claim. “Eh? Is that so?” Marcus retorted with an uninterested face that immediately irritates Nolan and want to blast Marcus off.

               Abel is still bickering with Nana while Amon tries his best to stop the fight from breaking out but then they froze as Marcus looks at thee look with fearful expression as Nolan extends his arm towards Marcus’ direction when the windows suddenly shattered and Ra lunges at Nolan who instantly lets go of his magical attack but gets swallowed by the dragon.

               ROAAAR! SCREECH!

               Ra can sense that Nolan hold hostility towards the three that it spread is wings to cover their figures and bare it’s fangs and claws in aggression. Everyone inside the mansion wanted to flee but the fear from getting burnt to a crisp by the famous dragon’s fire breathe stops them from fleeing then all of the sudden Marcus lands in front of the dragon and scolds it for making a mess. “Ra! Stop!” Marcus shouted as the dragon immediately retract it’s claws and fangs and sat on the ground like a puppy, a scene that surprised everybody. “Ra, bad boy. Look at the window that you just broke.” Amon said as Ra slowly lower it’s head as Amon pointed at the broken windows and terrified people.

               “What are you two talking about? Ra is just being protective just like he used to be when we always spar with Madam Razel.” Abel claims their words towards Ra is wrong and reminds them of when they used to spar with Razel which the two immediately remembers and apologizes to Ra and the dragon’s tail immediately wiggles , indicating that it is happy.

               Prince Japeth is dazzled by the dragon for being able to see a live dragon for the first time and immediately approaches them as they pat Ra, Ra senses that someone is coming close but did not react like he did earlier, knowing that the human des not show hostility to his owners. “Woah! How did you manage to tame such a beast?” japeth ask in amazement as it behaves exactly like a dog.

               “What do you mean beast? His name is Ra.” Abel quickly corrected his words as prince Japeth apologizes and ask if he can touch even just it’s tail. “Well, if he is not showing signs of aggression then I guess it’s okay.” Amon said with a smile as Japeth slowly touch it’s tail and feels the scale like armor covering it’s entire body as he smiles in delight.               [This is unbelievable! It’s a dragon! A dragon! I have not seen one my entire life! That’s one down from my checklist!] the prince smiles as his sister decides to follow his brother but Nolan stops her since she might get harmed.

               “What are you talking about? If my brother is fine after approaching it the I am fine. If what Abel said earlier was true then I will be fine on my own.” Princess Joanna said as she brushes him off and walk slowly  towards the dragon and just as what happened to his brother, Ra did not react aggressively. “How did you manage to get him to act like this?” she ask after seeing the dragon up close. “Well, we hatched him so I guess Ra considers Marcus to be his father? Mother?” Amon answers his question even thought he is not sure about it himself but princess Joanna is glad to have a conversation with him.

               Nana and Riri then along with the other nobles and other students besides Nolan’s group approach the dragon and marvel at it’s presence and Ra did not react aggressively and allowed them to come. Then one of Nolan’s group decided to walk towards it when Ra suddenly glares at him, showing his fangs and claws but then the nobles backs down as Ra immediately retracts his claws and fangs but continues to look at Nolan and his group with watchful eyes.

               An adventurer that was stationed around their residence and informed them that a dragon might have come to their residence but Marcus told them that it was Ra, which the adventurer then understood and then ask Marcus his regards to Ra. “Ah! Ra, do you know how worried mother is because of your disappearance? By this time I think she is getting ready to come here and fetch you so please behave while you are here. I don’t want needless troubles you understand?” Marcus scratches his head as he looks at the future troubles that he can see for himself.

               After Ra’s sudden appearance, Marcus looks for someone that could fix the window as they hide Ra for the meantime inside the training room and trained with Amon after not being able to train for a while. “Hoh~ you are able to do the fire breathe now huh? How long were you practicing that move since we left?” Amon marvels as he deflects Ra’s flames with a barrier. “You grew even larger than before. What were you eating there at home to be able to grow that large in just a small amount of time?” Abel ask as he recalls Ra to be half his height and as long as their sofa but now his height grew even higher.

               KRRRRRR!

               Princess Joanna decided to stay and observe how the dragon acts but all the did was stare at Amon as he mingles with the dragon, Abel sees this and realize that Nana is not the only one that he should be looking out for. [Ah! Young master you really are a chick magnet.] he shook his head I disbelief but what worries him the most is Amon being ignorant about the girls’ affection towards him.

               Riri enters the room and ask for Abel to be her training partner, Abel sees nothing is wrong about it then agrees. “Please use everything that you can since I will not be holding myself back.” She warns as Abel nods his head. “Don’t worry, I will not be holding myself back. That is the lesson that was taught to me when I was a kid.”

               SWOOOSH!

               The space above Abel’s head gets distorted as magical arrows appear after one another. Riri’s frost magic quickly scatters around her and projects a frost wall in front of her  to block Abel’s attacks but to her surprise, an arrow easily pierced through her defenses, boring a hole in her wall of ice in an instant. The surprised Riri immediately conjures a spike towards Abel as she freezes the floor beneath them in hopes to trap Abel using the spike as a distraction but Abel sees through her plan and melts the ice beneath him with a a sudden surge of flames coming from his hand.

               PSHHHH! TRINGGGG!

               Riri was surprised that Abel is able to fire an arrow towards her despite keeping the floor warm to melt the ice, confused as to how he is doing it, she looks at his hand and saw that Abel made an arm out of flames to keep the surrounding area hot while shooting out his arrows. [How is he able to keep this up? Using two kinds of elements drastically drains mana from his body. Just how large is his mana pool?] she thought to herself as she struggles to dodge and evade Abel’s endless shower of arrows.

               “I sure hope that you are showing everything you’ve got, because you are going to need it.” Abel declares as he distorts the space above his head even more and thousands of magical arrows appeared, composed of all kinds of element types. The sight of endless magical arrows shocked Riri out of her senses and drops her guard immediately, seeing that she is overwhelmed by his own strength, Abel disperse his technique as Riri falls to her knees in powerlessness. “Let’s stop here. I don’t want needless troubles.” He said as he extends hi hand and heals whatever injuries that Riri has but he is sure that the injuries on her body is not the worst thing that she suffered.

Seeing that they finished their sparring, Amon hands them refreshments to cool them off. “Here, it’s okay to be defeated. All you need to do is improve so that next time will not end up like it did earlier.” He said as he offered his hand to help Riri up. “That was some intense mana manipulation.” Riri marvels at Abel ability but he ignores it. “My abilities are nothing compared to young master.  I cannot even fathom how strong his ability really is.” He said which gave her another shock.

“Are you saying that he is even stronger when he uses mana? But during the duel, he was only using his physical strength.” Riri tells Abel while Amon plays with Ra. “Yes he did, but he was also using his magic. The absolute barrier that he made is the reason why he is unscathed. Me and young master Marcus had a hard time cracking his barrier during our spar that we ended up in a tie. Thought Marcus’ barrier is of the same thing, the young master’s barrier is even more dense.” Abel explained as he drinks the refreshment that Amon gave them, orange juice.

After their sparring, other students ask if they can train inside the training room so Amon, Abel, Riri and the princess vacate the room and allowed the other students to take their time training. Meanwhile, Marcus is with prince Japeth inside their office. “I’m sure the rumors have reached the empire so I won’t hide it from you. We are the ones responsible for taking down the dragons during our expedition  to the dragons’ lair. And Ra is the egg that survived during our expedition, the egg of the dragon monarch.” Marcus told Japeth who is dumbfounded to realize that the dragon mingling with them is a dragon monarch when it grows up.
