Unprecedented Journey

1825 Words
That night after the meeting with the elders where their mind was blown out by the revelations that had been told to them, the knight of the raging flames made a proposal to the knight of the immortal bodies, telling him that if they wanted to protect everything they need to start and make a move. “We need to move now Luke, if what the elders said was right then that only means that the production is staggering high.” Mark said with a determined tone as his friend still hesitates to agree nor disagree. “Since they think that they still has control over me, I will use this opportunity to get as much information from them as possible and learn everything that they are planning.” Mark said as he forms a fist and grits his teeth in anger. Luke saw this reaction from his friend who is opted to be the most composed out of all of them, seeing him like that made Luke realize that he too needs to act while they still have a chance to stop the empire from doing anything that they are planning to. “I agree, if we want to stop them, now is the time to hinder their plans. We must inform the other knights as well, with their help we might be able to stop the empire.” Luke added as he ponders on what he needs to do in order to achieve just that after Mark said that he will become a spy in order to gather information from the empire. “Luke- did your son ever step foot outside the shadow lands?” the knight of the raging flames asked Luke out of the blue which made him flinch. “No, we did not get the chance or maybe we just didn’t want to show ourselves to the outside world since I was banished.” He respond immediately. “Figures, he doesn’t act like the kids his age does and he is quite adept in harnessing his abilities with ease. Did you perhaps train him from the very beginning?” hearing his friend’s question, Luke flash a smile on his face seeing how interested his friend is about the topic.  “Well how should I say this? Ah! He’s just a genius. It was already late when I realized it as well, that kid is far superior to me when I was his age when we started training. I don’t know if its because of the demon’s blood flowing in his veins but even without him harnessing the demon’s ability, he can still fight well.” Luke admitted with smile as the knight of the raging flames chuckles. “I have to admit he really is a genius. Those guys, the envoys are a special unit and are a few level below us in terms of fighting and he effortlessly defeated them without getting a single scratch. That alone is quite a feat.” Mark said with a smile as Luke let out a hearty laugh.  “I too have a son a little older than him, maybe 2-3 years older, he is a decent fighter as well but he is quite sloppy in terms of using magic which greatly separates him from the other children of our friends. He is quite the loner you see.” Mark said with a bitter smile on his face. “So I was wondering, if you will allow him to come to my place and learn at the academy-“ the knight of the raging flames then stops speaking the moment he realize that the knight of the immortal bodies is releasing such enormous amount of killing intent that he did not even bothered looking at his friend to check if the murderous intent is directed at him. [He really is Luke alright, his overprotectiveness doesn’t change. He didn’t even hear me out.]  the knight of the raging flames just endured the gushing of intent to kill from his friend. “Don’t try and suggest anything absurd Mark, I may be your friend but if there is one thing that I hate from the time I was banished is the thought of having my family away from me.” Luke said with such a calm yet horrifying tone. “Can’t you hear me out first? Before you might want to separate my head from my body?” Mark mutters without looking at his friend knowing that it is a kind of expression that he doesn’t want to see. Upon hearing Mark’s request, Luke’s intent to kill is suppressed and Mark was able to look at his friend yet again. “Geez, you really are a handful, you know that? I didn’t know that you overprotectiveness is still with you.” Mark mentioned this but Luke’s expression did not falter and continues to stare at him. “As I was saying, there is an academy that had been built for almost ten years now. And it had been producing such great knights in the past. The four knights and their descendants are considered to be the most powerful and highly respected of what we, your friends had did in the past. If Amon did not have any experience in the outside world, now would be the right time to be giving him that chance. I can put him under my protection for his entire stay while he make a name for himself. I’m sure your son will do anything to reclaim the honor that you should have been given for what you did.” Luke is surprised of what his friend said as he also realize it as well, that there will be a time that his son would want to venture out in the world and make a name for himself.  But with everything that is happening about the empire’s plans after seeing it for himself. Any later would not be enough time for his son to be experiencing something that he had in the same age. [Mark is right, if we want Amon to know at least how to survive. He should learn it and get accustomed to it himself. The best way to deal with the enemy is learn how to act like them after all, in that sense, you would be able to properly guess what the enemy is going to do.] Luke thought to himself as he thinks of the right choice when all of the sudden Amon joined in on their talk.            “I don’t think that is a bad idea father. Like uncle Mark said, I sometimes have the urge to venture out in the world but seeing as you wouldn’t like the idea, I just brush it off every now and then. And didn’t you mention that there will be kids like my age as well? It makes me wonder how strong they can be, just the thought of it makes me want to come there and ask them to fight me. I want to know how strong I can be!” Amon said with a huge grin on his face, leaving the two adults in great worry after hearing the words that he said. “On a side note, I think it would be better if he were to stay here after all. I’m afraid that he fighting off other families’ kids once he sees them. You really are your father’s son after all.” Mark said immediately brushing off the idea of bringing Amon with him after witnessing his enthusiasm for getting stronger and fighting stronger enemies.  “What did you just say Mark? Are you implying that I am a trouble maker in our younger days? Aren’t you putting the blame on me after all of the fights that I have stopped because of you four idiots?” Luke said with a tyrant look in his face after remembering the things that he had gone through just to stop an infinite number of fights. Mark, the knight of the raging flames tried to dodge the subject but due to Luke’s great memory, he made Mark remember all of the fights that they were involved that Luke had to step in between just so that there will be no more casualties. After a hearty reminiscence of their past, they talked about whether Amon should come with him for the entire night with Amon joining in on their talk as his mother listens to them silently behind the wall, Amon accidentally found her mother listening to them when he walked past the wall to get some water for the adults when his mother immediately hugs him tightly while shedding tears. Amon realize what his mother is weeping about, so he hugs her tightly as well but with a smile on his face, saying. “Don’t worry mom, I will grow strong enough to protect you and the rest of the community.” He said before his mother cried heavily, keeping her voice down so that she would not get the attention of his husband who is enjoying his time with talking to his friend who he had not seen for a very long time. Morning came and Amon was set to journey with the knight of the raging flames in the next day. The entire community hears of this news and immediately raise their concern for the young master that they know and love but before they can even take a step inside Luke’s house to protest, they are stopped by the great elder whom they respected greatly. “This is their decision, a decision made by his father and mother and most importantly his own decision. We cannot let him stay here and hauled up in this place. That kid is strong but he needs more experience to be able to grow more stronger or else he might just be a frog in a well, ignorant of everything in the outside world just like our ancestors who paid greatly for overestimating themselves. I trust all of you to remember that shame. The young kid is a brilliant and a genius at decision making even at a young age. Therefore, to even polish the skills that he attained now, we must let him go.” With the speech of the great elder, the entire community stopped trying to persuade the family to send the young master to the outside world but they would not allow him to venture alone, they firmly believe that he should take Abel with him so that they can rest assured and the Gajel family happily accepted.
