Second Duel Of The Day

Later that morning, the news of Amon and Abel completely overpowering the two nobles became the walk of the academy from normal civilians and nobles alike, especially with the instructors. The headmaster ordered the instructors to hide this from the family of the nobles that fought the two and called for the instructor that acted as the referee. “Good day headmaster, what is it that you wanted to talk to me about?” the instructor asks with a humble voice as the headmaster mentions the excellent fighting capabilities of the two students from the lower class. “They are quite talented for their class which makes me a little worried about our artifact. The claim of the royal prince was indeed right after all, for someone of his stature to show anger for he evaluation of someone that we do not even know is unlike him.” The headmaster said with a calm demeanor as the instructor agrees. “Yes, I was there when they fought. Their battle prowess and sense are systemically better than most of the students that I have seen so far.” The headmaster nodded his head and smiles. “Yes, they are indeed talented. Don’t get me wrong, the nobles did really well defending against the attacks but instructor. I advise you to refrain from acting anything like you did earlier. Some of the instructors sees you helping the nobles as a disgrace. I’m sure those two have noticed your deeds as well but knowing that they can overcome them even with your help they ignored it.” The instructor froze in place after hearing the headmaster’s warning. Helping or aiding students during a duel is a crime and can be punishable with execution. The instructor then kneels and beg for forgiveness saying that the students pressured him and threatened his standing as an instructor at the academy if he did not help them. “I understand instructor, but do remember this. Students will be students, and students should always be under the instructors. That is why I have a rule will punish everyone that will be caught joining hands with the students with bribery. Be thankful that the other instructors pity you for being only an instructor here for two years. Otherwise you would have suffered the consequences.” The headmaster’s tone of voice turned cold as he told the instructor to leave and repent for his crimes. “The students this year are quite a handful, for them to be bold as to bride an instructor for their underhanded plans. I’m sure the instructor will not do it again.” The headmaster talked as if he was talking to someone when all of the sudden the air in one of the chairs gets distorted and revealed a woman clothed in a bright green dress. “Yes, that is something that you should take care of headmaster. Otherwise the knights will have to close this done for producing such awful and utterly disgraceful knights.” The woman said as she glares at the headmaster. “Rest assure, I will take care of this matter personally Knight of the Turbulent Winds, Madam Razel Rojan.” “Then I will not stay here any longer. I was just planning to visit my students but to think that they will have to be on the first duel of the year. And an underhanded duel at that.” Razel prepared to leave the academy as the headmaster mutters. “No wonder they are quite strong. So they are your students huh.” Razael brushes him off and told him. “Don’t misunderstand, those two are originally strong before we met, we just became sparring partners but our relationship is that of a student and a master.” Razel’s remark shook the headmaster as she left the office telling him to fix whatever flaw that the academy has before it’s too late. [To think that Mark’s artifact would be able to block their demon aura. Just where Mark got such an artifact?”] she thought to herself as she passes the busy halls of the academy looming with students. She then walked towards the lower class rooms where Amon and Abel are the talk and decided to take a peek inside the room. There she saw Amon and Abel surrounded by their classmates and tells them how amazing they were, Norman sees her an d recognizes her but before he could greet her, she gestured her to refrain from doing so. Norman understands and nods his head, Amon and Abel senses her and immediately nods their head with a smile. Their classmates’ are confused and looks at the door only to see nothing as Razel disappears in thin air. “Okay everyone, I know that you are all excited about Amon and Abel’s performance during the duel but its time f or class and those two promised to listen well to my class so I can’t have you all disturbing them at all.” Norman said as he tells the students to go back to their seats. “You have all seen the duel right? Amon and Abel’s performance are the perfect example of master, which is the same thing that Amon told us being one the determining factors of difference in power. And the perfect example would be, Abel’s last attack. Why don’t we all take our time and inspect the variables in that last attack. Can anyone give me one variable?” Norman used the opportunity and used the duel as his source to make his student’s interested in his class and make use of their excitement as fuel. one after another, young ladies raise their hands which confused and at the same time surprised Norman as to how man people are willing to answer his question so he picked one of them to answer but all that he got as an answer was how amazing Abel was. Disappointed by the student’s answer, he picked another one. But the answer is almost identical from the first one. He decided to pick everyone of them and the answers are not much different from one another, all of them were praises of Abel and how he captivated them all. [Damn- I thought it would be like this.] Norman buried his face under his palms in dismay. “Okay everyone, thank you for all of your answer but that was not what I was asking. Can someone give me a more concrete answer?” Norman asked then a single hand rose from behind Amon and Abel. “Yes miss Faust-?” Norman tilts his head after seeing a similar and yet different Riri Faust. “Good day instructor Norman, I am Nana Faust, Riri’s twin sister. The variable that I noticed is how he is able to harness a terrifyingly unstable and destructive wind and shoot it out as invisible and yet show destructive power.” She said with a smile on her face as she stares at Amon. “But for me, the most interesting part is Amon’s ability to combat against a person with multiple barriers around them and actually piercing through their barriers like it was nothing. Even the weapon that he used is really interesting.” She added as Amon turns to her in surprise. [Now I know why my sister is interested in her. Both of them are interesting but he is the most interesting one out of them.] Nana lets off a seductive smile towards Amon as she sits down. Norman turns to Riri wanting to have an explanation why her sister is in their class and what happened to the student who is supposed to be on that seat but Riri could not give him an answer. “Thank you very much miss Faust, your answer is correct. For Abel to be able to harness violent wind to be used as invisible arrows would require mastery. Just as Amon said, a mastery of one spell or technique is better than knowing multiple techniques and suck at all of them. Abel must have trained his entire life using that technique and even improved it along the way which is even more rewarding if used correctly.” Norman explained by the way he views things as Amon and Abel listens to him knowing that he did not have to dedicate his time on the technique that much because of his demon blood. The female students adore Abel for his dedication after hearing what their instructor said but then Norman asked Amon the reason how he destroyed the multiple erected barriers around the nobles. “Huh? I think there is no other reason than the barrier being weak from the beginning.” His remarks shocked everyone but instead of being shocked, Norman on the other hand is interested as o what his explanation would be. “A simple barrier with only a round shape and seamlessly smooth surface of the barrier is the culprit.” Amon explained as he projected a simple and smooth barrier in his palm. “One a single point of this barrier is damaged, all the other part will easily crumble. But if you imagine the barrier to be like this, it will be more durable than the simple and round barrier.” Amon then conjured a barrier with plates interconnected to each other on his palm and tries hard before crushing it completely. [Brilliant! The time difference on how the barriers broke is large, that alone signify that the last barrier is on a whole new level different than a simple barrier. That would explain why he was unscathed when he was slammed on the wall!] little did he know that Amon and Abel were covering themselves with a whole new different barrier that Marcus was able to create.                The students then immediately tried to recreate the barrier that Amon made just now and tried the same test that he did. And sure enough, it was tougher and more dense than a simple barrier.                Meanwhile                “Did you see how those two from the lower class defeat the other nobles? It’s nerve wrecking! Jaq immediately fainted and was sent to the infirmary immediately.” One of the female nobles whispered to the others. “Yes, and that last attack by the other guy is really intense. I felt my body shiver just by the sight of it.” Another one added. Nolan hears this and bit his lower lip as the nobles following him feels the same bitter feeling that Nolan is experiencing. “Tch! Just because those two faced weaker nobles, everyone is talking about them. Even the princess is taking pride in what she said before the duel started.” He muttered to himself as they pass by Nana’s seat, empty.                [I can’t believe that guy is strong. To be able to mess up Jaq’s inside with a single punch. The doctors even said that it was not a simple punch at all. Is this why the princess adores that guy? So they really are aware of their existence that’s why they do not consider themselves as genius because of them?] the female noble thought as she follows Nolan and takes a seat. [I thought I came here to find gold but to think that I would get to find a diamond instead.] a smile appears on her face as she thinks of Amon’s figure inside the arena, her cheeks slowly gets flustered just by thinking about it.                “Those guys really are a handful, I can’t believe that they are going all out with just two simple nobles-“ Marcus was thinking about the duel when all of the sudden, someone punched his head.                BAM!                A man with a few guys following behind him landed a heavy blow but Marcus turned to him with an unfazed expression. “Was I supposed to feel that?” Marcus asked and surprised the person that punched him. “You bastard- how dare you mess with Michelle.” The man said with an angry tone. “Ah! So she came to you huh? You her boyfriend or something? If that’s the case then you should tell her not to meet other men besides you.”                PAK!                Marcus caught the punch of the man and warned him that if he ever throws another punch, Marcus will have no choice but to violent actions with violence as well. “You got cocky because your friends were able to pick those noble bastards off? Then why don’t we have a duel-“                SLAP!                Marcus slaps his face with his gloves in that instant. “Huh? You read my mind. I can’t just beat you outside the arena right?” Marcus said as he left the man speechless. “That bastard! Duel this afternoon!” Marcus just waved his hand as he continues to walk. [To think that I would get to duel the same day that those two had. Tough luck.] he thought to himself as he clicks his tongue.                “A new duel has been established just now?” the headmaster asks. “Yes and it will be this after noon.” His assistant confirmed as the headmaster massage his temples. “To think that kids this year are quite competitive. Very well, ask the infirmary to be ready for anything considering what the noble had suffered earlier.” The assistant nods his head and leaves the office after receiving his orders. “Marcus Saber huh? He was once looked down on by his peers because he is not interested in fights, how much did you improve, please show me your strength Marcus.” The headmaster mutters to himself as he stares at his work and then finishes it.
