In saying that, I still haven't gotten out of bed due to Mum and Cam not waking from their sleep, like it's almost hitting lunch time.  So I'm using this time to have a lazy one because I do honestly, feel a little seedy from those drinks I had last night.  Checking my messages for the hundredth time, I end up calling it quits when I know Luke won't reply until later. Though I feel a little annoyed because who else is going to entertain me for the day while Mum and Cam sleep it away?  Eventually hearing Lucy wake up, I discover her in the kitchen making leftovers from dinner last night, her offering me some which I happily decline before asking if she has picked up anything from Mum or Cam, conversational wise.  "Yeah, they didn't want me telling you but Cam and Mum are meeting up with those people I was telling you about, you know, the ones that are here to hunt down the fuckhead that attacked you as well as track Jake down." she rambles on in a dry tone as if the subject bores her.  "Say no more, I'm going back to my room." I groan, knowing that today's going to be a day of f**k all, that or I could see if they have a rec room here.  With the idea sparking a fire in my head, I suggest it to Lucy who agrees upon the condition of she finishes her food, and is allowed to get changed. Agreeing and ordering her to hurry up, I spin on my heels and make a beeline for the bathroom to finally wash away the smell of last night, and the sweat that went with it.  No images of Luke and I doing anything spring to mind, which doesn't sadden me, it leaves me with a weird feeling actually because Jake was never like that. All he wanted was a quick f**k to help him pass out for the night.  Like it wasn't like that in the beginning, though it progressed down that path eventually and later on it go worse.  Maybe us not doing anything is a good thing considering we were both pretty f****d, but still it leaves me guessing what would have happened if we were sober? Would we have even made it to my room or would it have stopped at the conversation that lead us to making out?  Brushing it from my mind when there's a bang on the door, I take that as my cue to hurry up and get out. So washing myself off before making sure my hair is fully rinsed of shampoo and conditioner for the nicely healing wound's sake, I hop out and wrap a towel around then head towards my room.  "Thank f**k!" Lucy whines as soon as she picks up the door opening.  "Shut up!" I shoot back sweetly, not really interested in the slightest about how long I took.  Grinning all the way to my room, I quickly dry myself off before chucking on my clothes for the day consisting of skinnies, my Docs, a long sleeve, hoodie and thick coat over the top.  Chucking on a beanie to pull it all off, I head out to find my phone flashing with a notification indicating I have an incoming message.  Unlocking the phone and seeing Luke's name, it doesn't take me long to get into the message and read what he has to say, the words considerably good due to the smile I didn't know I have, smack bang in the middle of my face.  "Well there you have it, Luke wants to catch up again tonight but he wants me at his place. Hmm, well I guess if he's offering." I announce more to myself, yet I can't stop smiling to save my life.  "Emily, are you talking to yourself in there?" Lucy questions from the other side of my door.  Feeling a little embarrassed but too excited to care, I go back to the message Luke sent me before letting out a squeal of delight.  The emotions this guy puts me through is astounding, Jake never achieved this level of enlivenment from me.   "Maaaybe, why?"  "Just wondering."  Silence. The creak and close of a door. More silence.  Awesome now how am I going to do this without freaking Mum and Cam out, where they end up looking for me and not my attacker?  Mulling it over as I text Luke back stating I'm down for it, Mum and Cam come waltzing into our cabin while declaring they will be out for the day and possibly night.  Looking at them confused, Cam ends up spilling the beans about his friends being here to help search for my attacker as well as Jake.  He then comes clean about Jake's parents actually bringing backup friends with them the night he texted his Mum wanting to come back home. So it could have been either one of those that came up with them, that found me watching and got me.  For some reason I feel safe knowing that we possibly have a face to my attacker, it's just a matter of finding the right one.  "So you're hunting down the list of names you know that went with Jake and his parents?" I sum up with folded arms and a c****d hip. "Pretty much, that's why we want you staying here at all times and no leaving this park, you got me?" Mum orders, both of us nodding our head's before we're being hugged and kissed. "But how do you know all of this information?" I demand as they're about to leave.  "Because, my brother was at his dealers house when he heard some junkie talking about plans of helping one of their mate's sons come home from somewhere f****d. So you put two and two together considering Jake's parents are known around where we're from, because of what they put in their arms. Meaning-" "I wouldn't doubt it wasn't you they were talking about because who else fits the criteria?" Mum finishes while Cam lights a cigarette.  "Okay, well what are we to do about food?" I question when Lucy and mum start talking amongst themselves.   "We will leave you money which will buy you a few things to last you until we get back; there is a little service station down the road where you will be able to get food from." Cam explains as he hands over the said money.  "Thank you, but you really don't have to do this." I mumble under my breath, him looking down at me in shock as if I have just struck him.  "I do because what if one of those sick f***s raped you? There are some pretty filthy cunts out there Emily, you have to think of that no matter how well you know the person." he growls, my eyes dropping instantly when I regret pushing it further.  Like I get that he cares for me, but this could be a jail sentence if it all goes pear shaped and I refuse to see my parents take that kind of fall for me.  "Sorry, I just don't want you or your Mum getting hurt or thrown away if reported to the police." "Trust me, it won't. These people go missing all of the time and are known for it, it was just a matter of time before they left again but this time for good."  His words put me at ease in some f****d up way, so I thank him once again before Lucy and I are left alone. My heart on the other hand is trying to free itself from my ribcage due to how dead set they are on this. "See, I told you." Lucy eventually states, as if an "I told you so" is needed right now.  "Don't even go there because you know I didn't even call you a liar." I argue, yet she's not listening considering her phone is of more importance.  "Yeah, walk away assface!" "Hmhm!" With Lucy now in her room, I give Luke the run down on what the go is, him a little interested in what I have to say on the matter of Cam hunting Jake down. "So when do you want me over?" he finally asks after seeming to answer all of his questions. "Now if you want? Are you working?" I reply quickly with my brain not thinking of anything else, other than seeing him. "I am actually heading there now, I was called in to help with a few other rangers in a task but it shouldn't take me long. Did you want to meet up with me when I'm done? I'll give you a text when I'm finished." he suggests, my head nodding before the words of agreement even pass my lips. God I haven't felt like this over a guy ever and I love it, not even with Jake was I this excited for small plans.  "Cool, I'll see you then."  "Okay, bye."                                                                                                     *  "Okay Lucy, I'm going to head out and will be back later." I announce from the other side of her door, the male voice stopping automatically as she rushes to the door. "Um, Mum and Cam said we aren't allowed to leave." she repeats from the sliver of her opened door. "I know, but Luke is going to be there so I'm pretty much safe." I point out when there's a deep male sigh from the other side of the door.  "If she gets herself in danger, I'll help you find her." Rory's suggests as the silence between Lucy and I, grows.   "See, and I'll even pretend he never just said that." I laugh, Lucy joining in with a snicker from her room.  "Alright, fine, but please message me when you are coming back or if you think you're in trouble!" Lucy calls after me while I turn and head for the door.  "Will do!" I shout back then I'm out the door and straight on the phone to Luke asking for directions.  After what feels like half an hour I'm finally at my destination, my eyes taking in the giant trees hanging towards the roof of what I assume is his house.  It's made with a cabin style to it, only larger than the one I'm staying in and added with a splash of modern through it.  A large gravel driveway with more trees hugging the edges of both sides, leads to a road that seems to be in the middle of nowhere and a large deep mahogany double doors, now opening as if they sense my presence.  On the inside it looks like I've just stepped into a different house, the walls painted with creams, whites as well as dashes of greys and other deep matching colours.  The furniture complements the elegancy of the inside of the house, the kitchen decked out as if one from a movie due to the abundance of bench tops and space.  Walking down a carpeted hallway and into his room, he sets off changing out of his work clothes and my cheeks instantly heat up, his laugh sounding around the room as he continues anyway.  "Nothing you have never seen before." he taunts when I turn to face him and observe his form now clad in baggy tracksuit pants, socks and another Aiden band shirt.  Taking a seat on the edge of his bed, he pulls out a cigarette then offers one to me, my hand seizing it as a door opens and there's laughter as well as talking, coming closer to Luke's room. For some unknown reason I'm now rising from my position next to Luke on the bed, the door exploding open and all conversations halt in shock at the sight of me. Both male and female assess the person in their house and especially their son's room, their orbs a little squinted and odour reeking of alcohol and cigarettes. "Dad, this is Emily, Emily this is Alistair my Dad and his partner Ashley." he introduces, Alistair sharing most of Luke's appearances apart from his eyes aren't russet but pale blue and locks a different shade of brown.  Even his build is similar to Luke's, though I can't see any of Ashley's features in Luke, possibly meaning Ashley isn't his real mother. Letting that thought bubble to the back of my mind, I focus in on Ashley and actually recoil a little at her killer stare she has going on, as if it's piercing right through my soul.  Her eyes are a deep hazel, her skin pale yet slightly wrinkled and greying sandy blonde hair tied up into a neat bun, her figure as sickly thin as Alistair's and coming off as a chronic alcoholic by the way she seems to look.  "I didn't know we were going to be entertaining tonight." Alistair declares when he drinks in my form like the glass of wine he has clasped in his hand. "You aren't, I am-" Luke's cut off by his phone ringing and that has everyone silent as we wait for him to answer it. He then begins speaking in an unknown language I've never heard him speak, the conversation over as quick as it started though the language still sticks.  "Well you're in luck because Emily and I were just leaving turns out." Luke informs the curious bunch staring at him, my mind waking up and telling me that it's time to move.  "Not until you tell me where you're going! You have work tomorrow and I am not covering for you if you are late!" Alistair shouts after us as Luke snags me by the wrist and drags me back out through the front door and once again into the cold. "Don't mind them; they're always like that when they drink." Luke apologises after a while of walking to where only he knows.  "I'm more concerned on where you're taking me." I admit when we don't stop trekking down the now pitch black road, the moonlight just breaking through the tree canopy failing to meet in the middle on some parts of the road. "That was my Mum on the phone, she was in town and wondered if I wanted to do something before she went back home, so I said yes." "Oh my God does she know I'm with you?" "Yes, so don't panic, she's actually excited to meet you."  Blushing at those words, I feel a little weird inside considering Jake's mum hated my guts, then again she hated all of Jake's girlfriends.  "Okay, well it's her funeral if she wants to meet me." I mumble while our focus sets on a pair of car headlights coming in our direction.  "Don't even, she will love you." he laughs as the car pulls up and the front passenger door opens to a smiling olive skinned woman, her eyes the same russet as Luke's, hair cut into a bob with it way shorter at the back and longer in the front, a deep blood red through it, and a fringe she pushes to the side from time to time.  "Luke! It's good to see you, jump in I'm going to take you guys out for some coffee." she greets as Luke makes his way around after opening the car door for me.  "And you must be Emily?" the woman questions when we're all buckled in and driving back towards town.  "Yeah, thanks for taking me out." I blush and fiddle with the belt hugging tightly across my torso.  "No problem, I was hoping I would get to meet you. Now Luke-" then I lose her in that same language I've heard Luke speak before, my mouth and body hushed as I take it in and try to guess where they're from.  The guessing game distracts me all the way until we're in town, Luke, Stella and I getting out of the car then heading into the diner and ordering us a round of coffee. Waiting for our selected drinks, they discuss on food options with me declining till Luke somehow persuades me. "Fine, I'll have whatever you're having." I half-smile, Stella granting me a look as if to say she doesn't care what I get.  "You sure considering you don't seem too keen on it." Stella reassures, all eyes on me before I'm confessing what I really want.  "See, there we go." she grins before heading to the bathroom while the waitress is still taking orders and whatnot from others. "If you want to go home, I can tell mum you aren't up for it-"  "No it's not that, I'm just not used to having someone else's parents be so, I dunno, welcoming." I confess when my brain takes me back to Jake and how his parents were. "She's always been like that, but she was never this nice towards my ex, so feel happy." he laughs, my arm feeling a gentle nudge as we're re-joined by his Mum while the drinks start coming.  "Have you also decided on what you wanted to order?" the waitress questions when she holds a pen and pad in hand.  "Certainly." Stella now rambles off what we want then leaves us with our drinks.  We sit in silence for a bit before my phone informs me of an incoming text. With a racing heart I rip it out of my pocket to see that Lucy is asking if it is okay to call.  So informing Luke and Stella I will be back, I make a head for the front of the shop while giving her a ring and seeing what's wrong.  "Hey you alright?" I demand as soon as she picks up.  "Yeah I'm fine; I was just letting you know that Mum and Cam will be coming home tomorrow. They wanted to speak to you but I told them that you were in bed already." she explains, my nerves automatically calmed when I realise I won't need to rush home. That and she covered my ass for me, something I will be forever grateful for.  "Thanks heaps Lucy, I will be home soon so I won't feel bad for leaving you all the time." "Don't even stress, I mean Rory had to go back but I will see him again when we're done on the vacation. So I'm sorry that I can't come and grab you if you get stuck." "It's all good dude, and you sure you're going to be okay by yourself?" "Yes Emily, now go and have fun." "Alright, well I love you."  "Love you too, now goodbye haha." then the line cuts off and leaves me with a weight being lifted from my shoulders. Entering back in the diner, I take my time when I see Luke and Stella in a serious looking conversation, though I'm caught by Luke's eye and am now forced to speed up my process in favour of not seeming like a nosey cunt.  I was only being nice and giving them as much time to talk it out before I got back. But I guess it backfired on me didn't it? I look like that girl everyone doesn't want eavesdropping on your conversations, especially ones with parents.  So making it to our booth, they appear to have shifted conversation, only you can still feel the tension in the air. Letting it go in favour of having a good time, they ask if I'm okay and if we need to go back, though I shake my head and notify them everything is fine.
