"You guys Mum and Cam just sent me a text asking if we're good to go!" Lucy calls from the other side of my door, Luke and I finally saying our one last goodbye then giving Lucy the thumbs up.
So with Luke leaving before Mum and Cam get the okay to go ahead, my mind is still stuck on Luke and how time did fly past. One minute we're in bed having s*x, then the next thing you know we're lying down together for what feels like only seconds, before we're forced to get ourselves ready once again though this time; it's to go separate ways.
Hoping it isn't for months or even the dreaded years, I fight the tears threatening my eyes when I watch him set off with his last kiss lingering on my lips.
"You'll be okay dude, I'm sure I'll be able to convince my friends to come up here again soon for a holiday when school holidays hit for me, so get some time off and then we can come up again." she assures me, my heart lightening a little at the thought of that time considering school holidays for her is only three weeks away.
Why Mum and Cam chose to take us only that close to when Lucy gets to go on holidays herself is beyond me, then again the time wouldn't have been right for everyone when you think about it.
"Thanks Lucy, that means a lot, but I really feel that one day I won't be coming back home and I'll be staying up there." I confess to her, well more myself due it being a dream I will one day make come true.
Before she says more Mum and Cam waltz in and announce for us to start packing our things in the car, my heart heavy when I think about how quick time went and the past few days when I couldn't reach Luke, only it's all over for now and there's nothing I can do.
Getting into the car after giving the cabin and the woods behind it one last gaze, the flashbacks of Luke and I meeting up there as well as me also being attacked after finding Jake talking to his parents about leaving me, I watch it disappear when we turn onto the main road to take us out of here and back home.
About an hour in we're stopped along with the few cars behind us, a ranger in uniform informing us that the path is unclear and that we all have to turn around.
Cam is furious by this stage because not only can't he afford to miss another day of work, but neither can Mum nor I due to us needing the money. Well me especially, I'm the one wanting to move out here!
"You have got to be kidding me; I have to get to work tomorrow! Is there any other route nearby we could take?" Cam demands, the man shaking his head and walking off to let the others know.
"f**k this, looks like we're going to have to call in work and tell them we might night be able to make it in tomorrow. We will have to stay here another night." Cam growls as he slams his phone into the glove compartment.
"No s**t, f**k sake why can't anything go right for us?" Mum shouts before she's now on the phone to which I assume is her work, then there's me trying not to burst with joy while Lucy is forced to go another day without Rory.
I get to see Luke again, but will I be able to go through the process of leaving him again? Because I have a feeling it won't be as easy as some might think. Like I have never had to say goodbye to a guy I liked, twice. This is all new to me so the emotions are going to be interesting, when they come round.
Striking it from thought for now, I turn my attention towards the task at hand and that's letting Luke know that I'll be back in town again for another night.
We end up going to an ATM so that Mum and Cam can access more money out, though not long we're now heading back to the same cabin retreat yet into different rooms.
The only dissimilar thing is though is our positions, Mum and Cam's cabin four down and across from mine and Lucy's. So if Luke does end up coming over, I don't have to worry about Mum and Cam hearing anything next door.
Getting our things out once again, Mum decides to wash our clothes considering we're down to a few things. So we hand her our things before being told to stay here while they come back with dinner and wait for the washing to finish.
With that I'm already on the phone to Luke telling him that Mum and Cam have gone, him texting back seconds later that he is entering the place now and that he'll watch out for the car.
Smiling I wait what feels like forever when there's finally a knock at the door, my ass shooting off of the couch as if someone had lit a fire under it and greeting Luke with no words, but my hands in his shirt and yanking him through the doorway to meet my lips.
"Okay, well I'll be in my room." Lucy states awkwardly as she disappears into her room, our embrace not breaking once while hearing her leave.
"This is obviously a sign telling us you can't leave." he murmurs into my lips while my hands make their way to his mocha locks.
"Trust me, I don't want to." I breathe when he lets me claim air.
Not wasting a moment in hitting the bed, everything seems more intense and longer yet shorter at the same time due to time going so fast.
By the time we're done, Mum and Cam are being seen coming back thanks to Lucy, Luke quickly chucking his clothes on while telling him to come back later.
With one last kiss he's gone, the kiss lingering before my grin's wiped from my face when Mum and Cam come in announcing they have KFC for dinner.
Wrapped with the choice of food, I actually enjoy it for the first time in ages while Mum and Cam as well as Lucy having similar thoughts, then delve into what might happen if we're stuck here for longer than a night.
Apparently Mum and Cam overheard a couple raging about how the rangers told them that they also, might not be able to leave for a couple of days due to how bad the snowfall is. That and a bad storm seem to be coming our way.
Hoping Luke isn't caught out in it by the time I can get him back in; the company with Mum and Cam seems to just drag on before they finally leave. Like I feel bad for thinking that but I don't exactly want Luke to die out there either.
I give it a minute or so then I'm out there searching for Luke with phone in hand, my eyes stealing a quick glimpse of the sky and storm threatening to unleash upon this small town, my heart racing when I can't seem to find him after a few more minutes of being exposed to the elements.
"Emily!" he calls out in a whisper, my head snapping onto him rounding the side of the cabin across from mine while relief washes over me.
"Quickly get inside before you die out here!" I blurt in a flurry of words when I try and rush him inside, Luke laughing while we're greeted with warmth thanks to the fire place Cam lit up for us.
"You want something to eat, drink? We have left over dinner in the microwave." I offer as Luke plonks himself on the couch, the TV going and playing what appears to be one of his favourite shows.
"No it's okay thank-"
"Luke, you're not being rude by saying yes to food. If you're hungry, f*****g eat." I cut across him with a stern look, his lips turning up into a nervous grin before he raises his hands up in surrender.
"Alright if you're offering, no need to break my arm or anything." he jokes, my eyes rolling while I go and get him the leftover food and hand it over to him.
"f**k yeah, KFC. I thought I smelled it when I walked in." he beams crookedly as he is handed the box of remaining chicken, some chips and some potato and gravy.
"Did you want a drink?" I propose and enter to the kitchen to pour myself another glass of Mountain Dew.
"If I say no you'll probably kill me, so sure, if that's okay?" he calls from his position, a smirk forming on my lips as I finish pouring his one.
"Good, now I'm going to go and have a cigarette in the lounge because I don't want to smoke around you while you're eating." I inform while getting up with my glass of Dew in hand and heading for the couch.
"No stay, I don't mind it considering my Dad does." he admits with a smile, the smile bringing me back and lighting the cigarette while conversing about my limited time here.
Jumping into bed and curling up next to him as the storm commences to rage outside, I only thank God that he wasn't out there considering I would have kicked myself for missing out on the opportunity to spend more time with him.
We talk for hours more followed by more making out and s*x before passing out after a few more goes, each one just as intense as the last if not more considering the storm is masking all of the noise we're making.
"You know what I've noticed?" he states when we're now once again cuddled up in the same position we were in before s*x.
"What?" I ask gently as I play with his hand resting on his chest.
"You seem happier than when I first met you." he points out, a smile forming on my face while the reason comes bubbling to the surface of my mind.
"That's because you bring it out in me, regardless of how long we have known each other." I reply, my gaze finally meeting his once again and bumping his nose with mine.
No more words are shared between the both of us, my eyes slowly closing as I let darkness take me into its arms.
