CHAPTER 27

1454 Words
*Gray* The second I arrived home, I gathered my gaurds together, including Shwinn. My mother knew too much, and I had to reign in quickly, before she deciphered my plans. Once everyone was in my office, I shut and locked the door. I sat in front of my desk, facing everyone, who could already tell I was a dishevieled mess. This isn't something I was used to, not anymore anyway. I've usually got my s**t together, and I usually have a plan for everything. "What's wrong?" Alistair asked, reading me like a book. "Audra, my mother, knows about me moving. She asked why I was moving, so at least she hasn't learned that yet... but she's close." I announced, standing from my chair and pacing the room. "What did you tell her?" Alistair asked, as he looked at the others, who appeared concerned. "The best I could come up with under pressure was, I had roommates that wanted to... have fun with Daisy too." I admitted, even the lie feels disgusting to say out loud. "It's something we should prove to her..." Rome said, rubbing his chin, deep in thought, "In fact, that's exactly what will solve two dilemmas. If you bring us with you to the dinner, not only will you prove the roommate theory, but we can help keep an eye out on Daisy." "We'll be the losers your mom has always wanted." Caz sarcastically remarked with a sinister smirk, one I agreed with. "That's not a terrible idea..." I agreed, nodding, "Plus, it will piss her off if I bring more guests." "All we have to do is tell Daisy to play along." Alistair noted, and I quickly felt deflated. "I wish she didn't have to be part of this..." I grumbled, out loud. "You like that girl, don't you?" Caz asked, smirking. "That's not something you have to answer, sir." Alistair growled, "Caz-- knock it off." "It's just a simple question! Sheesh..." Caz rolled his eyes. "I do," I admitted, "Although, I don't know anything about her." "Sometimes that happens," Rome smiles broadly, "Sometimes they come out of the blue, and smack you upside the head. Like they were meant for you, and instantly your ass is owned. Good luck buddy, it only gets worse from here." They all started chuckling, and I felt the tension drop. I concluded the meeting, and we left the office, some of them still lost in laughter. As we walked out, Daisy and Alexa were passing through the same hallway, heading for the kitchen. Alexa squinted her eyes at us, probably wondering why were laughing. While Daisy's lips pulled into a small smirk, something I rarely ever see her doing. "What's so funny?" Alexa asked, propping her hand on her hip. "Something you wouldn't understand." Caz responded, shrugging. "Oh really?" Alexa argued, "Try me." "I'd like to, but I can't mix pleasure with business..." Caz's response had everyone gasping, or stifling laughter. "Caz!" Alistair growled, while Rome desperately attempted to withold his laughter. "You little-" Alexa muttered with wide eyes, before abruptly attacking Caz. Alexa lunged toward Caz like a linyx, and her hands were reaching for him before he could blink. Simulatenously, I pulled Alexa off Caz, while laughing uncontrollably. Alexa was still reaching for him, attempting to break free from my grasp, clawing to get away. I held her tight, until she calmed down, and once that happened, I glanced over at Daisy. Her eyes were glued to me, and her eyebrows were furrowed. Something was upsetting her. I released Alexa, and she shoved her way past Caz. As everyone started to walk toward the kitchen, I noticed Daisy wasn't following. I turned toward her, and noticed her eyes had a light glossy layer... was she crying? "What's wrong?" I immediately asked, stepping closer to her. "Nothing," She shook her head, "Sorry... just thinking..." "About what?" I asked, not allowing her to pass me. "Stupid shit." She responded, staring up at me with a hurt expression. "Tell me." I demanded in a calm tone, I wasn't going to let this go. "No." She pouted... she f*****g pouted at me, and pushed her way past. I stood there, with my back facing the others, and bit my lip. Fuck... I do like her... a lot... I'm so f****d. I care about what has her upset, I care about keeping her safe and protected, and son of a b***h if I care about taking my time with her. I'm going to fall for this girl, and there's clearly no stopping myself. I have to brace both of us for impact, because this is going to create a war within my family. I entered the kitchen, where everyone was sitting down to eat the lunch that Fran and the chef Boyd had prepared. Sitting beside Daisy, I could feel tension between us as I sat down, and had to wonder where it's coming from. There was also tension between Alexa and Caz, s****l tension. "With this new house, we should have a place for target practice." Caz mentions with a mouth full of food. "The backyard is big enough to do whatever you wanted with it, within reason." I responded, and Caz smiled wide. "That's great news!" He cheered, scarfing down the rest of his food. "You're like a child, sometimes." Alexa scoffed at Caz, shaking her head. "Maybe," Caz shrugged, "A hot kid that you can't keep your eyes off of." Caz smirked, while Alexa rolled her eyes, but I knew she liked him too. Caz liked to play around, but I could tell that when it came down to things getting serious, he was one of the best. It's never a bad thing to keep things light, especially when the weight really starts to hit. "Alright you two," Alistair chuckled, "Either play nice, or we'll keep you two away from each other." "Can the little kitty play nice?" Caz snickered, wriggling his eyebrows. "Caz- you're asking for it, dude..." Rome grumbled, slamming his palm against his face. "Only if you keep the little weiner dog in its kennel." Alexa smirked, firing back. "I'll keep the mastif in it's den, for now." Caz winked, and everyone began laughing, including Daisy. "The mastif..." Rome chuckled, rolling his eyes in disbelief. " You wish, bro." While everyone finished lunch, I couldn't help but stare at Daisy. Every little move she made was delicate, even as simple as the way she blinked her eyes. She was deep inside her mind, and I wanted to know what about. The movers had completed their work, and were waiting for my word to move into the new house. I wanted to get started right away, the sooner we're in the new house, the better. Once I saw everyone was finished eating, I decided to make it official. "I'd like for everyone to pack up their things, and necessities, because this is the last day in this house." I declared, clearing some of the dishes from the table. "Sounds good." Alistair nodded, helping me with the dishes. We packed up the last few neccessities in the back of Alistairs truck, and a few more things in my car. I made sure the house was empty, before making it final. I was leaving the penthouse, and moving into my own mansion. Something about it made me feel more connected to Daisy, but I wasn't sure how. Or maybe she was starting to wear down my rigid edges. Alexa, Daisy, and myself were riding in my car. Alistair and Shwinn were driving the moving truck, while Rome and Caz were following in another truck. It was like a convoy driving through the city, and I felt good about the change. Daisy was quiet the whole way there, and I knew she was upset, but I didn't know why. When we pulled up to the new house, I could hear both girls gasp, while they took in the view. The house was gorgeous, as well as the land surrounding it. It was going to be a lot more spacious, which will be good for so many people living in one house. We parked, and got out of the car. I began unloading things, while the girls started admiring the house from the outside. I chuckled, tossing Daisy the keys to the front door, "Check it out." She caught them, and passed a look of shock to me. I was surprised when she handed the keys over to Alexa, who immediately unlocked the door and ran inside the house. Daisy stared at me briefly, and then slowly walked in the house behind Alexa. What the hell did I do to hurt her so badly?
