*Daisy*
I felt so many emotions in the span of a couple of hours, and now I'm spiraling out of control. First, I felt a bond with Alexa, after she helped me try to regain my memory. I was so thankful and happy for that, until I saw her interacting with Gray. When he had his arms around her, I could only feel fury towards her. I was jealous... but not entirely sure why. It was bothering me, and I didn't know how to deal with it.
When we arrived at the mansion, our new living space, I was in awe. It was a beautiful house. I was in even more shock when Gray tossed me his keys, which I immediately handed over to Alexa. Maybe he has bad aim? Either way, I didn't want to be around it anymore, not until I could learn to cope with it. I walked inside the house, more interested in disappearing somewhere, than looking around.
Alexa was running all through out the house with exictement, while I stood in the entrance. I glanced around the warm enviornment, studying the empty rooms. It seemed like the house was one level, because I didn't see stairs anywhere. There was a large fireplace off to the left, in the first room that reminded me of a living room. Adjacent to that was the dining room that fed into the kitchen. The kitchen had all new steel appliances, with a black marble countertop, and dark wood cabinets.
A large hallway connected to the entrance, as well as the rest of the rooms. Another small hallway branched off from the main one, and that lead to all of the bedrooms. I looked out the glass back door that connected to the kitchen, admiring the large backyard. I walked outside, stepping onto the hardwood patio. To my left was a rectangle pool, and straight ahead was acres of open land. Pine trees scoured the yard, as well as other shrubbery. It was breath taking.
When I turned around to head back inside, Gray was standing directly behind me. I almost ran into him, until he caught me by the shoulders, and I stared up at him in shock. My heart was pounding again, I was nervous, but unsure why. It was a nervousness that I didn't mind, as odd as that sounds.
"What do you think?" Gray asked, his voice subtle and soft.
"It's incredible." I honestly remark, my voice a mere whisper.
"I'm glad you like it," He responded, and took a deep breath, "There's something I have to tell you..."
"Okay?" I muttered, afraid of what he was going to say.
"We have to go to my parents house this Sunday for dinner..." He grunted, "But I've thought of a plan to keep you safe."
I stared into his dark blue eyes, and noticed something different, though I wasn't sure what it was. He thought of a plan to keep me safe? I honestly don't understand why he cares so much, and though I'm thankful, I'm mind boggled by him. Could Gray possibly have feelings for me too? The thought was almost comical, because how could a man like him fall for a woman like me? He's so strong, confident, and I'm the exact opposite.
"Daisy?" Gray asked, his voice bringing me back to reality.
"Sorry--" I stuttered, unsure how to respond. "Okay..."
"What's bothering you so much?" Gray asked, his face blanketed with concern.
"Nothing--" I tried to turn away, but soon his hands were lightly grasping my shoulders again, keeping me facing his direction.
"Stop it," He grumbled, "I can tell something is wrong, so just tell me."
"I... I don't even understand it." I muttered, looking away from him.
"Describe it." He sternly requested, and I looked at him with surprise.
"Gray-- please just stop... leave me alone." I sighed, finally pushing away from him, walking further into the yard.
"Damnit, Daisy!" Gray growled, running after me.
He stood in front of me again, blocking my way, and I began crying. I was too afraid to tell him how I felt, too afraid of rejection and pain. If I told him that I was starting to get feelings, he could turn into the person his family wants him to be... or treat me like the trash I know I am...
"Please, Daisy... tell me what's bothering you." Gray begged, and I stared at him in disbelief, "I don't want you to be upset."
"Fine!" I shouted back, finally losing my temper, "I-- I like you... and... I got jealous when you were holding Alexa."
Gray stared at me, his mouth slightly adjar, while his eyes studied me intently. I held my breath, waiting for his response, and the longer it took, the longer I went without air. I was petrified, what if he was revolted by how I feel? What if he kicks me out? What if... he returns me to Miguel?
Without any words, Gray slid his hand up the side of my face, cupping my cheek. His fingers laced through my hair, as he pulled my face closer to his, and our lips connected. The second his skin was against mine, I felt a wave of emotions rush through me. Invigorating excitement, as well as a loathing pit of dispair. I pulled away, breathless, staring into his beautiful blue eyes. There wasn't any part of his expression that felt intimidating, yet I was still scared to death.
"I'm sorry-" He whispered, his warm breath hitting my lips again, and I pulled him in for another kiss without thinking.
I held him by the collar of his dress shirt, as our lips touched once again. This time, when I pulled away, he was the one that was speechless. His fingers traced my lips, momentarily, until he found the scar on the side of my cheek. I watched his face fall from happiness, to guilt within seconds. Did he blame himself for what his mother did?
"I don't want to move too fast..." Gray whispered, while one hand delicately rubbed my back, the other stroking the side of my face.
"Me either..." I admitted, resting my head against his chest, melting into his embrace.
"Did I prove to you that you don't need to feel jealous?" Gray asked, engulfing me in his arms.
"Yes..." I muttered, slightly embarrased.
"There's something about you, Daisy," Gray softly spoke, pulling away to look in my eyes again, "Something I can't get enough of."
"I don't understand why..." I modestly shrugged.
"Me either, not yet, anyway." Gray smiled, "Let's get back inside."
Gray grabbed my hand, and led me back into the house, where everyone was admiring everything. The movers were already carrying boxes in the house, stacking them by the front door. Gray led me down the hall, to the room at the very end. We walked into a massive bedroom, with its own fireplace, and backdoor to a patio. There was a personal bathroom, with a large oval bathtub, and seperate shower. This was the master bedroom.
"This is our bedroom," Gray commented, and I turned to look at him with my eyebrows arched.
"Our bedroom?" I repeated, trembling at the thought of sleeping next to him.
"Still with different beds, of course." Gray said, pursing his lips.
Before I could respond, the movers started carrying in Gray's large bedframe and mattress. They set it in the middle of the room, and left again, quickly working to get everything in the house. Gray walked back to where the others were standing, in the kitchen, and I followed behind him.
"I bought new beds for every bedroom, and there's a total of nine. Take your pick." Gray smiled, announcing to the others.
"Oh my gosh!" Alexa shrieked, prancing out of the kitchen and toward the hallway with all of the bedrooms.
"Thank you, sir." Alistair responded.
"Everyone make yourselves at home, we'll order dinner in tonight, until we get the house stocked with food." Gray said, while everyone filed out of the kitchen, except for the two of us.
"I'll help you unpack." I offered.
"Why don't you focus on your things, first." Gray winked, walking toward the entrance of the house.
He grabbed a box with my name on it, and carried it into the master bedroom. He placed it next to the closet, which was also massive, and tore it open. I stood in the doorway of the room, watching him, as he walked back toward me. He placed a light kiss on my cheek, as he walked out of the room.
