“I…I apologise for last night.” Those were Lucifer’s first words to me in the morning. I was fully dressed, in a casual white dress with high heels and I saw Lucifer, still in his pyjamas. He looked horrible, his eyebags dark and saggy, and his eyes were so dimmed. His hair was messy, and his face looked more tired than usual.
“Oh! It’s alright of course…Don’t worry!” I laughed. “Its nothing to fret about… So…are you going to change? Or am I supposed to eat my breakfast and spend my whole day alone?” I joked. “You want to eat with a freak like me?” He asked hoarsely. “Freak? No…do you see yourself in the mirror? You’re perfect. Your power is amazing. And no, I am not sugarcoating it. You’re perfect.” I consoled him.
After a hasty dress up, Lucifer was dressed in a handsome red velvet suit, with a black blouse at the bottom. Still, no matter the dress up, he still looked tired and emotionless. I was getting worried for him and before I could open my mouth, he said, “Do you want to get some coffee or tea? I know a nice place.”
I beamed, and replied instantly, “Sure! Where’s this place?” We walked to the café, we ordered some drinks and food, and curiously, I fell into an easy camaraderie with him. It was so easy to talk to him, without any fakeness or any type of formalities. With him, I was just…Lumine. I didn’t have to be Crown Princess, or Lady… I was just…who I truly am.
Time with him flew by, and we finished our dinner at a posh restaurant. When we walked to a river which was said to bring people good luck and love, my blood ran cold as I saw two people in front of me holding hands. Alexander and Kate. My ex-boyfriend that cheated on me with my best friend and dumped me after I found out. That was the hardest point in my life, and now, I am back at square one…again.
