Reine’s POV
Immediately I felt like I was where I was not supposed to be. This place was obviously used for nothing good. Still, my curious mind wanted to see the altar, what was on it. I stepped closer. Whatever was underneath, was covered with dried wines and branches.
With my flashlight, I moved it to the side and looked closely. Something that looked like a statue was revealed. My face turned to a grimace. I really hoped that thing doesn’t come to life, I was dead the second I stepped inside that gap otherwise.
I swiped my hand, my intentions to move the remining debris from the top, I didn’t realize a sharp end was peeking through and ended up slicing my hand.
Hissing, I retracted my hand. The wound wasn’t too deep but it hurt like a f*****g motherfucker since the area was below freezing.
“Ow ow ow ow ow.” I cried to myself.
I went to take out the med kit from my backpack. As I was searching, I felt a noise form behind. alert and fear gripping my heart, I turned around, my backpack dropping on the ground.
The f*****g statue just moved. I was sure of it. There was nothing else in here that could make such noises. I pointed the lamp towards the altar. I saw my nightmares come to the life as the statue f*****g woke up.
A shrilling scream ripped from my mouth as I scrambled on my legs, leaving the s**t with me behind on the ground and hauled ass outta there. Heavy footsteps, unusually heavy footsteps chased me as I ran out of that cursed room, screaming like a banshee.
In my heavily panicked state, I forgot where was the little gap through which I came in. I didn’t have my flashlight either. My vision swam as I collapsed. Whatever the hell that was came to stand before me, my blurry eye couldn’t catch anything.
“stop” I muttered as it tried to get close.
I think it stopped at my words, but before my brain could register anything, I lost the consciousness.
“f*****g fuck.” I heard myself mutter as I slowly regained my consciousness.
My eyes snapped open and every nerve fibre in my body was on alert. I was hoping everything to be a dream but as I looked around in the darkness, I realized it wasn’t. my breaths came out in short pants as I frantically looked around. I stood up. For once, I was afraid, afraid out of my skin, I wanted out but I had to get my things, that meant going back there. Breathing loudly, I peeked back into the cave. My lamp was still on in the far end. Gulping, I stepped inside. once again, cold gulfed. My eyes watered, I felt like I was seriously going to die.
My stuff was right there. All I had to do was get it and get the f**k out of here and this country. Inhaling, I ran inside and started to collect everything haphazardly.
Suddenly, I fleet the hair on my neck stand. On pure instinct, I jumped to the side as someone pounced on me. Screaming bloody murder, I looked at the large person, too large person. His head snapped to me, eyes flashing crimson.
“STAY THE f**k AWAY!!!!” I yelled, shielding my head.
Hearing a loud crash, I looked up to see the person against the wall, groaning in annoyance.
Surprised, I looked around. Did I do that? Or did he throw himself?
The man got up. “If you do that one more time, I will rip your throat out.” A heavy, gruff voice growled, ground shook and I squealed.
I looked at the giant man with terror in my eyes, a sob emerged from my throat. I wasn’t able to see his face sine it was dark where he stood, I could only see the outline of his figure.
With shaky hands, I collected my backpack, leaving the damn lamp there. Without wasting a moment, I ran out, it was like déjà vu again, the man ran after me.
“NO.” I hollered, looking back, I caught a tint of his pale skin. “STAY THERE, DON’T COME NEAR ME.”
In a flick of an eye, the man halted, his eyes flashing again, an animalistic growl reverberated through him, I almost peed myself.
I ran again, squeezing myself through the crack, in haste, my backpack got stuck and so did I, my lungs unable to breath in air. Suffocation set in, making me go dizzy.
“I can get you out of there.” The voice said again. “All you have to do is tell me to touch you.”
I glowered. “Do you think I am that stupid?!” I snapped, struggling.
A dark chuckle fell upon my ears, making me shiver with goosebumps.
“Suit yourself.” The man said and went back into the shadows.
My brain was losing oxygen fast. I was gasping for air while flailing my limbs uselessly.
“GET ME OUT OF HERE.” I cried.
“Is that a call for me?” the voice said from nowhere.
“Yes, you f*****g idiot.” I said. “And don’t hurt me.”
The man snarled again. His shadow grew bigger and bigger until he was right in front of me, revealing his lusty red eyes in the dark. Frail, cold, pale hands touched me, I shuddered.
The man gripped my hand with his icy fingers and pulled me to him. In a snap, I fell forward, his big hands catching me. I scurried away in an instant, my eyes on him, watching him like a hawk.
“Get away.” I spoke. He stepped back; his expressions dark.
“Who the hell are you?” I asked. “More like, what the hell are you?!”
“My name is Demetrius.” The strange man answered, looking at me piercingly.
“Alright, Demetrius.” I said. He visibly shivered. My confusion increased even more.
Demetrius’s expressions darkened as I said his name.
“don’t say my name.” he spat, taking a threatening step forward.
