Chapter 16

888 Words
Avery Day 6 After Reignar accosted me for my selfish, immature behavior. I sulked around the estate, the sense of dread that I had awoken to this morning was gone. I started to connect that burning, ashy scent to that horrible rancid feeling thus linking it to Reingar. I had questions but knew he wasn't going to give the answers to me. So, I decided to take up journaling. I obviously talk to myself too often and now I'd be documenting those conversations, 18 is looking like a solid win so far. It was incredibly hot yesterday, my skin was tight and itchy from this unbearable heat. I mostly soaked in the pool to escape it. I wondered if it had something to do with shifting. If I was a Dragon, I clearly could shift and fly away. f**k captivity, am I right? Most of the three books provided were history of Dragons, nothing important that would help me shift. Only political hierarchy s**t like councils, courts, and rank. Shifting was something I intended to talk to Reingar about, before that was before I demand he release me, surely he wouldn't encourage my independence now. I am bored out of my mind. Things I want to know about: Omegas How to shift The veil House Blackwell ~ Day 7 I woke up this morning drenched it sweat, I dreamt of the forest, the moon and the chase again. This time I heard growling, it wasn't a dragon chasing me. I knew as much based on its size and the way it maneuvered through the trees. This isn't the first time I've had a repeated dream, when I was little I use to dream about this castle, like full on gothic medieval castle on a beach, like palm trees, resort style beaches but then this tsunami would come and the panic would set in and everything including myself would be consumed. I was too young to look that up on google but it probably wasn't good. The only person I had ever told about that dream was Bacon. I spent a lot of time this morning reflecting on our relationship. We met in a random solo queue by chance. We had played games for months casually, slightly flirtatious but nothing outside of the game until I invited him to play clash, I invited him to a friends discord. We flirted, played games, talked. I don't really remember the first time I gave him personal details. But I do distinctly remember telling him about Toby and Sarah and that whole ordeal. Literally talking to the enemy. Crying to the enemy. But thinking back now about how Bacon has almost defended Toby at points or at least encouraged me to give him the benefit of the doubt, was pretty telling. In the scheme of things, his deception seemed pretty insignificant. He obviously didn't go into it knowing who I was. I could forgive and forget, not that I'd ever allow him close to me, but at least I could let go of my anger and see his side of things. I'd be better off not holding the grudge. Which then got me to thinking about Jameson, was anything from our day together real? Or was it all a ploy to be close to me or was he nose blind. Just drawn to my Omega prowess. Adding perfuming, scenting and whining to my list of s**t I need answers to. Was the easy banter and flirtations with Brom real or is every interaction with a male Dragon just my pheromones persuading infatuation? Adding it to the list. In other news, I complained during lunch to Miles that I thought I was getting sick, that I was overheating and uncomfortable. I asked him for a thermometer and then asked him if it could be related to my first shift. He didn't respond to me, just "Enjoy lunch Madame." ~ Day 10 Miles gave me a thermometer. I am dying, 106? Baseline, not during one of my hot flashes. This is a Dragon thing right? I wouldn't know. No one talks to me. I definitely talk at Miles though. I screamed at him this morning telling him this is how villains are made. I'm probably being a giant spoiled brat and he can't be bothered to placate a child. I've been debating about heading out past the vineyards to explore or escape. Potato, potahto. Am I right? I know from California that vineyards like valleys, they like heat. I know that the mountains to the west probably wouldn't be easy terrain to transverse but to the east, would be ocean, right? I knew nothing about Argentina outside of basic geography, I had once watched a survival show based in Patagonia, so I knew certain areas were no joke, harsh climates, scary animals. But Argentina has beaches and places of paradise as well, Right? So yeah, I need to figure out how to shift, grow wings and fly away. Otherwise I may start destroying stuff or breaking into locked rooms. Reingar's room must have some sort of entertainment, a phone, a book, a tv, a record player, a magazine. If this is my last entry its because I broke into something I shouldn't have and got myself killed. Or I grew wings and flew away.
