Vanessa ran as fast as her legs could carry her. At the moment, she didn't trust herself well enough to be with Levi. Since she heard that he now had a mate, she felt bad.
She was also angry at herself that the wolf still purred at his sight. She didn't have an explanation for that yet so she was trying hard not to be in his presence. Especially since he would want to get answers out of her.
She stopped to catch her breath. When she turned to look at her back, Levi was almost at her heels.
"Oh no!" Vanessa cried out and bent to pick up her sandals.
She dusted them and started running until she got to the edge of the forest which led to Archwood. She stopped and turned around, Levi wasn't behind her anymore which meant that he was still far behind.
