Chapter Four AIDEN “Good morning!” A whole bunch of people fall through the door, all coming for me, as I’m still sitting in bed. When I woke up this morning, I was told that I wasn’t allowed to go downstairs. I was only allowed to go to the bathroom, but that I had to get back to bed immediately after. The last one walking through the door is Clay, holding a huge pie in front of him, grinning more than I’ve ever seen before. Oh, help… “On three.” Wes looks at the kids. “One, two, three. Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear Aiden, happy birthday to you!” I feel tears stream down my cheeks as everyone is singing, or at least, trying to sing the song. This is so beautiful, I didn’t even know that they’d planned this. And I’m all choking up. “Thank you.” S
