Chapter Four AIDEN As soon as we drove off, I fell asleep, exhausted and totally done with the world. But as I wake up a while later, the world outside is still dark, the road still mostly straight and I don’t see a city anywhere near us. “Evening.” Clay’s voice is quiet and he reaches out to touch my leg for a moment. “Did you sleep well?” “How long was I out for?” “An hour, maybe a little longer. It’ll take at least an hour before we reach the city.
