Chapter 5 I Will Kill You

1839 Words
Abbas suddenly bumped into something and looked up to see a middle-aged man staring at him with a mocking expression. "Kid, you dared to steal from me? Are you looking to die?" The middle-aged man's face twisted with anger as he cracked his knuckles. He then reached out, grabbed Abbas by the collar, and lifted him off the ground. Pointing at Nasser Reza and Hina, he said, "Those two brats, they're your accomplices, aren't they?" Nasser Reza and Hina's faces paled. They hadn't been caught before, but now, on this last attempt, they were exposed. "No, I don't know them," Abbas said stubbornly, turning his face away. "Well, that's a good thing." the man sneered before swinging his arm and tossing Abbas aside. Abbas let out a groan of pain as his hand scraped against the ground, leaving streaks of blood. However, he gritted his teeth and stood up, his expression still defiant. "Abbas!" "Brother Abbas!" Nasser Reza and Hina shouted as they rushed to Abbas's side. At the same time, several burly men surrounded the three of them, trapping them in the middle. "You two idiots, you could have just walked away! Now look, we're all stuck here." Nasser Reza and Hina remained silent but looked at Abbas with determination. Since Abbas had chosen to sacrifice himself to ensure their safety, how could they abandon him now? "Oh, how touching. Beat them up! Teach these little brats a lesson," a menacing voice commanded. Immediately, the men stepped forward, raining punches and kicks down on the trio. As the blows began to fall, Abbas quickly pulled Hina beneath him, and then Nasser Reza, shielding them both with his own body. A barrage of punches and kicks rained down on Abbas, landing with a series of harsh thuds. Blood trickled from the corner of Abbas's mouth, a vivid, glaring red. Yet, despite the pain, Abbas forced a faint smile at Nasser Reza and Hina. As the commotion drew attention, a crowd began to gather around them. However, not a single person stepped in to help. No one even uttered a word of protest. They simply watched, as if enjoying a show, their lips curled into mocking smiles. Seeing the faces of these onlookers, an intense rage began to rise in Nasser Reza's eyes. Why is this world so cold? We're just children. We just want to survive. What did we do wrong? All deserve to die. Die. Die. I'm going to kill you. Unable to contain the fury burning within him, Nasser Reza suddenly let out a fierce shout, pushing Abbas’s body aside. His thin arms lashed out at the oncoming punches and kicks. “No!” Abbas and Hina shouted simultaneously, for in their eyes, Nasser Reza's thin arms stood no chance against those powerful blows, destined only to break under the force. But it was too late. In the blink of an eye, Nasser Reza's arms collided with the oncoming fists and kicks. Bang! Bang! A series of sounds erupted, and in the next moment, the men collapsed to the ground, clutching their arms and legs, writhing in pain and letting out desperate cries. "How is this possible?" Abbas and Hina simultaneously thought the same thing: this outcome was far beyond their expectations. The onlookers were equally stunned. A mere child, barely in his teens, possessing such astonishing strength, was beyond belief. Nasser Reza paused, momentarily surprised by his own power. He glanced at his arms, remembering that moment deep within the Daymavand Peak, when he had leapt high into the air and cleaved the head of a massive serpent in two with a single strike. Compared to that serpent, the men before him seemed utterly insignificant. Slowly, Nasser Reza stood up, his expression cold as he gazed indifferently at the people around him. Since this world is so cold and heartless, why should he care about anything anymore? At that moment, gazing into the young man's eyes, everyone felt an inexplicable sense of fear. Suddenly, Nasser Reza moved. Before anyone could even see how he acted, his figure had already appeared in front of a burly man. Without any hesitation, he threw a punch that struck the man squarely in the face. The nose bridge collapsed instantly, blood spurted out, and the man let out a cry of agony as his body flew backward and crashed to the ground. Nasser Reza's cold expression remained unchanged. His figure darted forward, and his tightly clenched fists ruthlessly swung out. Bang, bang, bang! A series of muffled thuds followed, and in the blink of an eye, all the adult men surrounding the three fell to the ground. The once fierce middle-aged man was now utterly horrified, as if the child standing before him was not a mere teenager but a demon from the abyss. What kind of freak is this? Nasser Reza showed no mercy. He landed a punch on the man's stomach, causing it to instantly deflate. The man's body bent backward in an unbelievable arc before crashing to the ground, his eyes filled with terror. Mixed with blood, vomit poured from his mouth, spilling everywhere. It was unclear whether he was alive or dead. "Oh no, it's a murder!" "Murder!" "Monster!" Terrified screams echoed from the crowd, and in their panic, people dropped whatever they were holding onto the ground. In the blink of an eye, the once bustling street was left with only Nasser Reza, Abbas, Hina, and the men lying on the ground. "We need to go quickly! That man might be dead from your blow. It’ll be trouble if the authorities show up." Realizing the situation, Abbas grabbed Hina, called out to Nasser Reza, and they swiftly left the scene. Before long, they had vanished without a trace. In the desolate plains outside of Pingcheng, three frail figures slowly trudged forward, carrying bundles on their backs. These were none other than Nasser Reza and his two companions, who had just left Pingcheng with their spoils from the trip. "Hehe, sometimes things just don’t go as planned." Abbas scratched his head, a bit embarrassed as he spoke. There was still a trace of blood at the corner of his mouth, and his body was marked with some bruises. "Nasser Reza, I’m really glad you were there just now. Otherwise, I don’t know what those people would’ve done to me. I never would have imagined that your seemingly frail body would possess such incredible strength. By the way, how do you have such powerful strength?" Abbas asked with a grin. However, Nasser Reza and Hina merely glanced at Abbas before lowering their heads and continuing to walk in silence. Though they said nothing, their eyes reflected a deep sense of gratitude and affection, as they had witnessed Abbas's actions earlier. Seeing that neither of them responded, Abbas felt a bit awkward and decided not to say more. The three continued to walk in silence, each seemingly lost in their own thoughts. "Nasser Reza, do you have a dream?" Suddenly, Abbas broke the silence, his expression turning somewhat serious. "dream?" "Yes, everyone has a dream. That's the meaning of being alive. We need to have dreams; we can't just go on living like this. Otherwise, how can we face the parents who gave us life, and our loved ones? Hina's dream is for everyone around her to live well. What's your dream?" Abbas asked. Nasser Reza glanced at Hina. For some reason, he felt an inexplicable emotion toward the cold yet beautiful girl in front of him. To ensure that everyone around her lives well—such a simple dream. Yet, it had been shattered by the harshness of reality. "My dream..." Nasser Reza murmured, then his voice suddenly turned icy. "Revenge. My dream is revenge." To avenge the villagers of the Nasser family village, to avenge his parents, and to avenge his sister, who didn’t even leave behind a body. His sister had loved him dearly. The words, "I'll only marry after my brother does," still echoed clearly in Nasser Reza's ears, as if they had been spoken just yesterday. Abbas paused, his tone heavy as he spoke, "Nasser Reza, do you know what my dream is?" "What is your dream?" Nasser Reza asked. "My dream is to conquer this world," Abbas said, his expression filled with excitement. "Conquer this world?" Nasser Reza was startled by Abbas's ambition. Abbas clenched his fists tightly and said, "That's right, conquer this world. If I can stand at the pinnacle of this world, I won't have to suffer like this anymore." "The pinnacle of the world?" "Exactly. Standing at the top of the world means being able to do whatever you want," Abbas said, a gleam of determination flashing in his eyes. "Like a god, bringing an end to war and giving the world peace." Rumble... As soon as Abbas finished speaking, a thunderous explosion suddenly erupted from the distant horizon. A massive stone, engulfed in roaring flames, streaked across the sky in a fiery arc, heading straight for the three of them. "No, get out of the way." Nasser Reza shouted in alarm, immediately grabbing Abbas and Hina by the hands and sprinting away from the impact zone of the falling stone. Among the three, only Nasser Reza had the strength and speed to escape the stone's impact zone on his own. But in this life-or-death moment, he resolutely chose to drag Abbas and Hina along with him. Just as they barely cleared the impact zone, the flaming stone crashed down with a tremendous force. Boom... A thunderous explosion echoed across the desolate plains, sending sparks flying, dust billowing, and thick smoke rolling into the sky. Nasser Reza and the others narrowly avoided the falling stone, but the shockwave from its impact blew them far away, forcing their tightly clasped hands to separate under the immense force. The three of them were thrown to the ground, their clothes singed and marked by the heat. Rumble, rumble, clang, clang, clang... The next moment, a deafening cacophony erupted from the distance. The ground trembled as explosions roared, weapons clashed, and blood-curdling screams filled the air. Flames soared into the sky, painting the distant horizon a fiery red. At that moment, Nasser Reza and the others finally understood what was happening. It was war—war between nations. Only such a conflict could produce such devastating effects, and that flaming stone was merely a byproduct of the battle. Nasser Reza and Abbas struggled to their feet, only to see Hina still lying on the ground. Her brows were furrowed, and her teeth were biting her lip as if she was in immense pain. Their eyes lowered, and they noticed blood streaming down Hina's pale legs. "Hina!" Nasser Reza and Abbas shouted in unison, rushing to her side. Gently lifting the hem of her dress, they were met with a gruesome sight—her knee and the area above it were a mangled mess of flesh and blood, a shocking and horrifying injury.
