CHAPTER 114 THE COMMAND Everyone was waiting in the Alpha’s office when they entered. Vince immediately enveloped her in a hug, warming her cold body. “You shouldn’t have stayed outside for too long,” he lightly scolded her, his eyes full of concern and worry. “Had Vance not come out, you would have stayed longer?” “I was carried away with talking to Mira,” Nicole whispered as she laid her head on his chest, enjoying his warmth and scent. She felt Vance’s warmth behind her before his palm rested on her hair. Alpha Drake cleared his throat. “You three will have enough time for your PDA. Some of us still need to sleep.” Vince reluctantly released her, catching the redness that dashed across her face. He smiled down at her before pulling her with him to sit down on his laps. Shocked and embarrassed, Nicole almost jumped but for his arms that tightened round her waist. “You don’t have to be shy, Nikki. You’ve seen Savvy and I like that many times,” Tim chuckled just like the rest of the room. “Possessive wolves,” Torin muttered and scoffed. “Like the former Alpha said, we are here for a reason. To get the command lifted.” Nicole tensed and whirled round, looking at Vince then Vance before looking at the others. Her heartbeat rose as she envisaged what the pain was going to feel like. She still remembered the pain from her half-shift. “We will be there with you, brown eyes,” Vance held one of her arms, massaging her fingers. “It’s just going to be for a few minutes.” “You can do this, sweetheart,” Vince added, rubbing her arms. “Okay,” Nicole nodded, looking at her aunt and uncle. Both smiled at her warmly. While the pack slept on their beds that night, the entire crew stood in the middle of the forest for Drake to raise his command. Warriors stood on alert at the boundaries, doubled for extra security in case of an attack of any kind. Torin stood at alert too. His powers brimming at the surface, attentive to even the slightest change in the wind. He had waited a long time to do see the emergence of the next Firewolf. It was his duty as the next head of his coven. ‘One more thing, Nicole,” Drake said as Nicole stood before him in one of his son’s tshirt. “You will need to talk to your wolf when she comes out.” “Why?” she asked. Drake linked his sons to tell her the truth. “Your wolf can attack him for putting the command on her,” Vance replied her. “But he did it to protect her…us,” Nicole looked at Drake, she never imagined her attacking him. He was like a second father to her and now going to be her father-in-law. “She needs to know that,” Vince clasped her shoulders. “You’re going to have to control her.” “What if I can’t and she…” she stopped, swallowing, images of her attacking Drake filling her with dread. “Hey,” Vance gently pulls her away from his brother and into his arms. “Don’t think of it. Just think of taking control of your wolf when the time comes.” “How do I do that?” pushing away from him slightly, her shoulders sagged with the weight of what she had to do. Why was everything so complicated? What happens if her wolf refuses to yield and goes beyond harming Alpha Drake? What would her mates do? What would the Luna do? Her eyes darted from the Luna to her mates Vince seemed to know what she was thinking. “Nothing is going to happen to him. Just imagine your wolf and you are one. If she can feel your emotions strongly, she will back down.” “Okay,” nodding. “What if she doesn’t?” Sighing deeply, Vance crushed her to his chest, again. “We are all here. We will do our best to stop her without harming her.” Not telling her they would use their alpha command on her if all efforts failed. Vince joined them, sniffing her scent. “Let’s do this, sweetheart,” he laid a kiss on her hair before leaving. Nicole missed their warmth and comfort as they pulled away, sighed then turned to their father who gave her a small smile. “I am just going to say the words and you will feel the change happening,” he explained. “Okay,” she smiled back at him, preparing her mind. Drake and his wolf prepared themselves as did everyone around. Anything could happen and Nicole’s wolf could go berserk, attacking not only him but anyone that stood in her way Being the Firewolf made the situation deadlier as she could manifest any of her powers. “I Alpha Drake, formerly Alpha of the Firestone Pack, remove my command on you and your wolf, Nicole. I hereby command you, Nicole Bennyson, once commanded to be an omega wolf, to be the alpha wolf you are meant to be. Shift!” he thundered in his Alpha voice.
