*Jayne* I’m not quite certain that I believe his claim of living in the present. He has obviously given some thought to our future because dinner has been designed for seduction. We sit at a small, round, cloth-covered table in a room with a balcony that overlooks the lake, which captures a full moon’s reflection. The windowed doors are closed because of the cool night air, but the glass is spotlessly clean, and it feels as though nothing exists between us and the view. A fire crackles in a nearby fireplace. Candle flames flicker in the center of the table, where orchids release their sweet scent.
