“How could this happen?” Jake managed to say in between his teeth in anger and frustration.
“Our lawyers called me yesterday and told me there was not enough evidence to keep Thomas in jail. He managed to get out through a bail.” Her Mom explained.
Jake took the nearest seat. “Mom, what did I do to deserve this?” He managed to ask, almost teary-eyed.
His Mom quickly came to embrace Jake. “Son, this is never your fault. There are bad people in this world. We could only do so much. We will find Amelia and we will get Thomas back in jail.” His Mom assured.
