"I....what? Its not like that Veronica. We were not a couple, all of these are arranged. Didn't Steve told you." I stutter as I spoke those words to her. I don't want to fight against her and make some scene in here. Beside Steve will surely get mad at me if it happens and I don't want to ruin whatever moment we had earlier. We are somehow okay now. Steve and I talk without cold glares and cold tones which I prefer. However if I speak bad at her knowing full well how much he loves Veronica, I know it won't be good.

"You lying b***h!" she exclaimed slapping me in the face before looking where Steve is who is now making his way back. Seeing him going back in here give me a relief. However what she did next surprised me. With glaring eyes and scary smirk painted on her lips, she grad the glass full of water in front of me and before Steve can came back she forcefully throw it in her own face so it would look like I am the culprit to her drenched self. huh I think she is the liar between the two of us. But Steve don't think so.

She came crying to Steve side and said "Babe I...I just wants to be friends with her but she called me awful words and she throw water at me. I am so sorry Steve I..I throw my water back at her I just got mad and annoyed at her I am so sorry." Veronica could really win as a best actress. She is shivering and her voice is trembling too much while embracing Steve too tight as if she is truly scared that I would harm her.

Drenched with cold water and marked with reddish left cheek which still stings. I can't help but feel mad more than I have ever been. I think for the first time in a long time I would break my own promise, for this is the last time I could sustain my anger.

All of my memories came crushing back at me when I was at the police station two years ago.

*STEVE'S POV

After hearing what my babe said, my blood boils. After how nicely I treated Jhozy earlier makes me want to puke. How can she treat Veronica like this when she is making an effort. My Veronica is already hurting enough with this arrangement and she has the nerve to speak s**t to her. She's ungrateful. I know she is hiding some bad in her, I should have not let Jhozy deceive me with her actions.

Not being able to contain my anger with her. I apologized to Veronica, gave her take out and escort her to their driver. When she is already situated nicely on the back seat of their car I spoke.

“I am sorry about that, I thought she won’t do anything to harm you that is why I left you alone with her. I explained to her containing my anger to make her calm while caressing her cheeks.

When I attempted to leave her side and go back to the restaurant, she instantly held my forearm and gave me a pleading look.

“I will visit you later babe. I just meed to talk to her and make sure that she would not bring you anymore harm in the future.” I told her and gave her a reassuring embrace.

"promise to come to my house after" she pleadingly said to me while holding my arm.

"I will babe, I am sorry for this vexatious situation" I apologized and gave her a swift kiss before going back where Jhozy is.

I grabbed Jhozy's upper arm and bring her to my car. Once we are settled, I faced her and said, more like shouted I correct. "What the hell you are thinking treating her like that after the kindness I just show you???!" I am too mad at her that I cant stop myself from driving too fast. I can see that she is frightened of my driving but after what she just did I just don't care.

"I didn't do it I swear. A...After you left she just throw water at me and said foul words to me and even slap me and then before you came she just throw water at herself. I swear please believe me Sven...I...I mean Steve Please." She finished in verge of crying. Her chin is quivering and her eyes is glistening with tears. I would have consoled her if I seen her look like that in a different situation.

"Believe You?! Are you out of your mind! Veronica is a sweet girl. She always good to others and never lie to while you is just someone who are here for my money!!" I exclaimed at her. Did she think that I would believe her more than my girlfriend. How dare she is to lie at me.

"I swear! I didn't lie. She is the one who lied please believe me Steve. I know she is your girlfriend but still Steve...." she uttered defeated in her voice.

I look her in the eye and grab her arm firmly. "You are not to accused her like that. She is not like you!"

She forcefully grab her arm back but she is too weak for me. She whimpered and said in a quite voice. “Let go, you are hurting me”

“Now you are talking about pain, have you thought about that when you threw water and embarrass her in the restaurant?” I replied but let go of her arm and hold the steering wheel again.

“No, I did not because I did not intentionally harm anyone in my life but you when I accepted this arrangement.” She whispered and look outside the window afterwards.

After that she just cry quietly, which she obviously try to hide from me, and other than that sound the drive is filled with silence. After I parked the car and we both get out of it. I look at her one last time before I enter the house and said "You are a liar!" I proclaimed.
