I started the shower and shut the door to let the water heat up before I realized how stupid I had been. She had been so set to go into the office before she backed down. That wasn't like her.
I had been too distracted by the guilt over what we had almost done that I didn't see it. She practically pushed me into this room, and if I had been inside the shower, I wouldn't have heard the door shut. With the water still running in the background, I pulled my phone out of the jeans I had already discarded on her floor.
Sure enough, she was nowhere to be found inside the house. D*mn it, Reign. I quickly shut off the running shower and dressed.
